Reasons Why to Bet on the Philadelphia Eagles to Win Super Bowl LIX
The Philadelphia Eagles were arguably the best team in the NFL this season. Although the Eagles lost three games, while the Chiefs lost two, we must put the losses in perspective. Two of the three defeats came in the first month of the regular season, and both were to NFC South opponents.
Since the second month of the season, the Eagles have shown a single defeat to the Washington Commanders, and that happened after Jalen Hurts suffered a concussion and had to leave the game. In the NFC Championship, Philly showed they’re the much better team than D.C., trouncing the Commanders 55-23.
Not only did the Eagles hold Jayden Daniels and Washington 23 points in the playoffs, but during the regular season, the Chiefs dusted Lamar Jackson and the Ravens on the road 24-19. There were also two wins over the L.A. Rams, one at SoFi in Inglewood during the playoffs and another in the NFC Divisional Round.
Victories over the Steelers and Bengals, a sweep of the Cowboys, and a win over the Packers showed that the Eagles are effective on both sides of the ball, and that’s the thing. The Eagles are a complete football team.
Key Players in the Eagles Camp
Hurts is a dual threat like no other in the NFL. He’s both a great passer and an incredible running back. Hurts’s center of gravity makes him an RB in the Emmitt Smith mode, while Barkley is sensational in every way imaginable. If you stop Hurts in the run game, he’ll dominate you with pinpoint passes to DeVonta Smith, tight end Dallas Goedert, and A.J. Brown.
You can’t stop Barkley. Steve Spagnuolo will try, but Barkley is too good to keep from rushing for 100 yards. Although the offense is fantastic, the real reason to like the Eagles in this game is the defense.
Vic Fangio, a legendary defensive coordinator, has developed a top-three defensive unit. The Eagles do everything well on defense. It starts up front, and Jalen Carter has emerged as one of the top tackles in the league. WLB Nolan Smith Jr., Carter’s college teammate at Georgia, has been unreal in the playoffs. The secondary rivals are any in the league. Philly is built to win Super Bowls, so they’re a solid moneyline play.
Philadelphia Eagles Projected Starters on Offense

- WR DeVonta Smith
- WR Jahan Dotson
- TE Dallas Goedert

Reasons Why to Bet on the Kansas City Chiefs to Win Super Bowl LIX
Don’t be fooled by what’s on paper. The Kansas City roster is full of great players on both sides of the ball. But the Eagles roster is better overall.
However, only one team has a future hall-of-fame quarterback playing for them in his prime. Patrick Mahomes doesn’t post the best stats and doesn’t dominate during the regular season, but when playoff time comes, he gets it done.
Key Players in the Chiefs Camp
What makes Mahomes special is his knack for making not necessarily the big play but the right play at the right time. It doesn’t matter the situation. We can’t count Mahomes out. Also, Andy Reid will have had two weeks to prepare for this game, which means the Chiefs will have a decided advantage in the coaching department.
Also, even though Spagnuolo will struggle to get his D to stop Hurts and Barkley, the man will set up a give-and-take strategy, meaning he’ll forego stopping one or the other and develop a situation where the Eagles must decide to either go for it on fourth down in the red zone or kick field goals.
When Mahomes gets the ball, the KC offense will go for touchdowns on every drive. This is how Spags and Reid will strategize for the entire 60 minutes. Philly has the better team on paper, but there’s a reason the line has yet to move a half a point since setting at -1.5 in favor of KC. Everyone knows that the Chiefs have a massive edge due to their coaching experience and quarterback when it comes to X’s and O’s.
Kansas City Chiefs Projected Starters on Offense
- QB Patrick Mahomes
- RB Kareem Hunt
- WR Xavier Worthy
- WR Hollywood Brown
- WR Juju Smith-Schuster
- TE Travis Kelce
- LT Joe Thuney
- LG Mike Caliendo
- C Creed Humphrey
- RG Trey Smith
- RT Jawaan Taylor
Final Super Bowl 59 Betting Predictions
The value play is on the Eagle’s moneyline because Philadelphia has more talent, and Fangio is a master defensive coordinator. However, a few games during the regular season should have fans and Philly bettors worried.
First, Hurts doesn’t play defense, so giving up the lead to the Commanders during the regular-season loss wasn’t good. Second, the Eagles struggled against two doormats: the Carolina Panthers in a 22-16 win and the Jaguars 28-23.
In both games, the Eagles defense allowed quarterbacks far less talented than Patrick Mahomes to do damage. Philly’s problem is that they’re giving Reid and Spags two weeks to develop strategies to win the game. Mahomes won’t make any mistakes, and the Eagles will struggle to contain Kelce, Hollywood Brown, DeAndre Hopkins, and the fast-footed Xavier Worthy.
The most important reason to back the Chiefs is that KC’s D will go to a bend but don’t break. KC allowed the Bills to rush for 4.6 yards per carry and 147 total yards, but the Chiefs won the game 32-29.
This game could go differently. The Chiefs will control the clock by not just rushing the ball but throwing short passes to Kareem Hunt, Isaiah Pacheco, and both tight ends, Noah Gray and Travis Kelce. By controlling the clock, the Chiefs will prevent this from going over.
Expect a much slower-paced game than the total implies. This year’s Super Bowl 59 parlay bet is the Chiefs to cover to the under.
Super Bowl LIX ATS Pick: Kansas City -1.5
Super Bowl LIX Over/Under Pick: Under 24.5
