Falcons cover the (+9) spread on the road against the Cowboys
At 4-4 and with three wins over their last four outings, the Atlanta Falcons are still alive for a late playoff push as their offense is starting to gain consistency at the right moment.
Atlanta averaged over 27 points per game over those three victories, whereas Dallas is averaging just 18 points per game over the team’s last two outings to leave the door open for a possible Atlanta upset as well. And let’s not forget that the last time the Falcons faced the Cowboys in AT&T Stadium, the latter team needed a miraculous finish to escape with a narrow 40-39 victory at home in Week 3 of the previous season.
Jaguars stun the Colts as (+10.5) dogs for second straight win
Jacksonville is hot off the biggest upset win of the entire 2021 NFL season that just saw Urban Meyer’s side hold the high-scoring Bills to just two field goals. While a 9-6 win is far from convincing on paper, the fact that the Jaguars defeated an early favorite to win the Super Bowl still speaks volumes of their upward progress.
Next up for the Jags is a divisional showdown against the Colts, who led by as much as 32 points during their 45-30 win over the Jets this past week. Indy is 0-2 in games that went to overtime this season, though, so the team best not take the Jaguars for granted, especially with the Jags playing with more confidence than ever. Furthermore, the Jags are 7-4 in their last 11 meetings against the Colts (9-1-1 ATS).
Jets put up enough points at home to cover (+13) versus struggling Bills
Speaking of the Jets, they’ve also shown more signs of life lately despite their revolving door of unproven quarterbacks. In fact, both of New York’s wins this season have come against the Titans and Bengals; two AFC teams with winning records.
Can Gang Green keep up its trend of being an unlikely giant slayer? As we mentioned earlier, the Bills were just humiliated by the lowly Jags this past weekend. In turn, the Jets’ chances of covering a double-digit spread aren’t as terrible as one would assume, especially with rookie starting QB Zach Wilson (knee) expected to return to practice this week leading up to Sunday’s showdown in the Meadowlands.
