Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks
- 2021 NFL Week 5 Odds: Los Angeles Rams -2.5
In a week 4 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the Rams played awful. Los Angeles had no answer for Kyler Murray and the Cardinals’ offense. Matthew Stafford struggled big time. But although the Rams played badly and the Seahawks beat the 49ers, we can’t back Seattle. Niners’ quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo got injured in the game. The Rams should bounce back with a great performance.
NFL Week 5 Pick: Rams
Sunday, Oct. 10
New York Jets vs. Atlanta Falcons
- 2021 NFL Week 5 Odds: Atlanta Falcons -3
The New York Jets average 11.8 points per. Atlanta isn’t a great team, but the Falcons scored 30 versus the WFT in week 4. The ATL dropped 25 onto Tampa Bay in NFL Week 2. The Jets are going to have trouble keeping up with Matt Ryan and Atlanta’s offense.
NFL Week 5 Pick: Falcons
Miami Dolphins vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- 2021 NFL Week 5 Odds: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -10
The Bucs are supposed to cover 10-point spreads versus teams like the Miami Dolphins, right? Not really. Miami is a much better team than their 1-3 record indicates. Also, the Bucs may have to play this without Antoine Winfield Jr., their best defensive back, and Carlton Davis, their top cornerback. Miami is the play.
NFL Week 5 Pick: Dolphins
Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings
- 2021 NFL Week 5 Odds: Minnesota Vikings -7
On Sunday, the Vikings kept messing around until the final couple of minutes. Then Kirk Cousins and the offense tried to tie the game against the Browns. This Sunday, Minnesota will go for the jugular right away. Detroit’s defense isn’t good at all. The Vikings should roll.
NFL Week 5 Pick: Vikings
New Orleans Saints vs. Washington Football Team
- 2021 NFL Week 5 Odds: New Orleans Saints -2.5
The Saints have played conservative football since the season started. In NFL Week 4, it bit New Orleans in the rear. The Giants ended up tying the game and then upsetting the Saints in overtime. Coach Sean Payton figures to open the playbook some versus the WFT. If Payton opens the book enough, the Saints should easily handle this spread.
NFL Week 5 Pick: Saints
New England Patriots vs. Houston Texans
- 2021 NFL Week 5 Odds: New England Patriots -9.5
In the most anticipated game in week 4, the New England Patriots were unlucky to lose. Quarterback Mac Jones completed 19 straight passes at one point in the game. If Patriots kicker Nick Folk had nailed the 56-yard attempt in the final 30 seconds, the Pats would have sent the game versus Tom Brady and the Bucs into overtime. New England will take their frustrations out on the overmatched Houston Texans.
NFL Week 5 Pick: Patriots
San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals
- 2021 NFL Week 5 Odds: Arizona Cardinals -5.5
There’s a chance Jimmy Garoppolo plays. If Jimmy G. doesn’t lace up the cleats, the Cardinals should have no trouble covering this spread. Even if Jimmy plays, Arizona is the pick because SF has big time injuries in their secondary.
NFL Week 5 Pick: Cardinals
Buffalo Bills vs. Kansas City Chiefs
- 2021 NFL Week 5 Odds: Kansas City Chiefs -2.5
Although the Chiefs are the home team, they should probably be the underdog in this matchup. Buffalo averages 33.5 points per while allowing 11 points each game. The Chiefs allow 31.3 points from 437.8 yards each game. Bills should win this on the moneyline.
NFL Week 5 Pick: Bills
Monday, Oct. 11
Indianapolis Colts vs. Baltimore Ravens
- 2021 NFL Week 5 Odds: Baltimore Ravens -7
7 points are too many. The Ravens are a better team than Indianapolis, but Colts’ quarterback Carson Wentz heads to Baltimore after his best game of the season. There’s also a chance the Ravens bounce after beating the Broncos in Denver in NFL Week 4. Wentz and the Colts can keep this close.
NFL Week 5 Pick: Colts
