Top Choice to Win the 2022 Ally 400

Not counting the All-Star Race, Ross Chastain has driven very well. At Sonoma last week, Ross crossed the finish line in seventh place. Before Sonoma, Chastain had finished eighth at Worldwide Technology Raceway and fifteenth at Charlotte.

The last win happened at Talladega. So Chastain is due. Not only that, but Ross finished second behind Kyle Larson at the 2021 Ally 400. Taking his recent form into account, and the fact he drives in a race where he’s had success, Ross Chastain qualifies as the top pick to win this Sunday’s NASCAR event.

Second Top Choice to Win the 2022 Ally 400

Kyle Larson didn’t have a great race at Sonoma. Kyle did win the pole, though, so he could have had a much better finish than fifteenth. But although Larson hasn’t clocked a top ten in the last couple of events, he finished twelfth at Worldwide Technology Raceway, we must assume Kyle and his crew pick it up returning to a traditional NASCAR event.

Larson dominated at the 2021 Ally 400. It’s likely he scores the repeat victory Sunday evening. But at the odds, it’s tough to put Larson on top, which is why he’s second choice.

Third Top Choice to Win the 2022 Ally 400

Byron finished sixteenth at Kansas, eleventh at the All-Star Race, thirty-second at Charlotte, and nineteenth over the Worldwide Technology course. So it’s no wonder that the Hendrick Motorsports driver offers +1200 odds.

But William Byron’s form may be turning for the better. The ninth at Sonoma last week was nice. More importantly, Byron finished third in this last year. If you believe, there’s no reason not to pull the lever on Byron because you’re getting fair odds on a streaky driver who may be coming up to a fantastic performance.

Top Underdog Choice to Win the 2022 Ally 400

Kevin Harvick drove great when finishing fourth at Sonoma last weekend. The fourth place finish should give his backers confidence heading into this. Another reason Harvick backers should have confidence is because he raced great at Charlotte a few events back. Kevin had a shot to win the Coca-Cola 600. He finished third. Last year, Kevin Harvick finished fifth in the Ally 400. If you’re looking for an under the radar play with signs pointing to a top five finish, Kevin Harvick qualifies.
