Which driver is worth backing? Max Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton?
Hamilton made a furious rally towards the end of last season to almost overtake Verstappen and win the Drivers Championship. No doubt, Mercedes and Hamilton want to get it done on Sunday.
But Verstappen and Red Bull have become the premier driver and constructor team at Formula 1. Max won the pole and was less than a second behind Hamilton at Bahrain in 2021. Verstappen’s finish showed that he had closed the gap on his biggest rival.
Don’t expect Red Bull and Verstappen to let up in 2022. At +200, Max Verstappen is a great play to win the year’s first Formula 1 race.
Which driver among Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, and George Russell deserves a look to upset the favorites?
Sainz Jr. and Leclerc both drive for Ferrari. The fact they both show lower odds than Russell means we should consider backing one of them over Hamilton’s teammate.
Which driver represents the best opportunity to beat Hamilton and Verstappen? Charles Leclerc is Ferrari’s top driver. The constructor went with Leclerc over Sebastian Vettel, who now drives for Aston Martin, because Ferrari believes Leclerc has the skills to challenge Verstappen and Hamilton.
Last year, Leclerc finished in sixth-place. Ferrari admits that they blew off 2021 to ready for 2022. Don’t be surprised if Leclerc ends up standing on the podium’s top level.
Does Sergio Perez have a shot of winning the Bahrain Grand Prix?
The 32-year-old Guadalajara, Mexico native has won a couple of F1 races during his career. But his odds to win on Sunday may not represent his chances of taking the checkered flag. Perez is Red Bull’s second driver. Most of the constructor’s efforts go into giving Max Verstappen the best chance to win races.
So, yes, Perez can win because he’s won a Formula 1 race before. But +2000 are underlay odds.
Which driver between Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo is worth a look to win the 2022 Bahrain Grand Prix?
Norris and Ricciardo are both excellent drivers. Neither should win on Sunday. But if you want to back one of the two, go with Ricciardo. Young Lando Norris has yet to win a race. Daniel Ricciardo won the 2021 Italian Grand Prix.
Both drive for McLaren. So there is a chance the constructor has spent more of their time and money on Norris’ ride. But Ricciardo has the experience. Also, the odds on Ricciardo makes him the more attractive play.
