Top Choice to Win the 2022 EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix
At last week’s Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, William Byron cruised to victory after starting twelfth and leading 111 laps. It was his second fifth or better finish in the last three races. So does that mean Byron is ready to have a bad race? Not at all. Hendrick is on a mission this season. Kyle Larson won the Wise Power 400 and Alex Bowman won the Pennzoil 400. Hendrick has taken 3 of the last 4 races.
So why not Byron? Especially why not Byron if the odds on fellow Hendrick drivers Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson are so short? Also, Byron finished second at last year’s EchoPark Automotive 500 behind Larson.
Second Choice to Win the 2022 EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix
Ross Chastain finished twenty-eighth at last year’s first race in Austin. He bounced back with a fourth-place finish in the second race. There’s reason to believe Chastain drives well on Sunday. Ross finished third in Las Vegas, second in Phoenix, and second in Atlanta. So he could definitely grab the checkered flag. Give Ross Chastain a big look to win his first race of the year.
Third Choice to Win the 2022 EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix
Logano didn’t finish all that well in 2021’s first race at the Circuit of the Americas, crossing the finish line thirtieth. But he bounced back in the second race, finishing third behind Larson and Elliott.
Logano, no doubt, could drive well in this. He finished ninth at the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500. So his crew and he are on the same page. But because Joey often turns it up a notch towards the end of the season, it may be too early to back him to win races. At the odds, Logano’s a good third choice.
Underdog Pick to Win the 2022 EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix
Kurt Busch offers much better odds than he should. Kurt heads into this after an excellent third-place finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Not only that, but he didn’t drive badly in the 2021 EchoPark Automotive, finishing seventeenth. His form suggests he has a shot.
Busch finished eighth in California, thirteenth in Vegas, fifth in Phoenix, and then third in Atlanta. If he continues his upward trajectory, Kurt Busch can grab the trophy at massive odds.
