Joohyung Kim
- 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship Odds: +4,000
Had it not been for last week’s win at the Wyndham Championship Joohyung Kim would not have been able to play this week at TPC Southwind. But alas; the 20-year-old South Korean wunderkind secured his first-ever PGA TOUR victory even before earning his membership card in the big leagues. Over his last five PGA TOUR starts, Kim secured three top-10 finishes; including his aforementioned win in Greensboro, solo third at the Scottish Open, and solo seventh in Detroit to cement himself as the hottest name in the field as we speak.
Hideki Matsuyama
- 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship Odds: +5,000
Often a model of consistency, 2021 Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama has been in quite a slump. After a strong solo fourth-place finish at the U.S. Open, the Japanese standout didn’t even sniff the top 50 in his next three starts, missing the cut in the Scottish Open and having to withdraw from the 3M Open due to a sore wrist. Given enough time to heal, Matsuyama is a superb sleeper pick to win this week, especially considering that he ranks second on the TOUR in late-round scoring average (fourth overall in final-round scoring average).
Max Homa
- 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship Odds: +6,000
Apart from missing the cut at the British Open, Max Homa has still been as steady on the greens since winning the Wells Fargo Championship for the second time in his career this May. Since that victory, the 20th-best golfer in the Official World Golf Rankings bagged five top-25 finishes in his next seven starts, including a tie for fifth at the Memorial. Homa is gunning for his third win of the 2021-22 PGA TOUR season and his current price as a sleeper pick speaks highly of his chances of doing just that.
