2022 Kwik Trip 250 NASCAR Odds, Preview, and Prediction

By Hank Blaine

On Sunday, NASCAR heads to Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin for the 2022 Kwik Trip 250. Last year, NASCAR called the Kwik Trip 250 the Jockey Made in America 250. Chase Elliott won the 2021 event, which is why Elliott shows up the +500 chalk to win this year’s race. Will Chase take another trophy home? Or does one of the other drivers deserve to be the top choice?

Top Choice to Win the 2022 Kwik Trip 250

In Nashville last Sunday, Kyle Busch underperformed. The Joe Gibbs driver finished twenty-first. But although the finish wasn’t great, it was an improvement off the thirtieth at Sonoma. Kyle and his crew are much better than what they’ve shown.

Before Sonoma, Busch had finished second at both Charlotte and the Worldwide Technology Raceway. Busch finished a decent third in this event last year. Kyle is worth a long look to right the ship and cross the finish line first on Sunday.

Second Top Choice to Win the 2022 Kwik Trip 250

There’s a reason Chase Elliot is at +500. He’s not only grabbed the checkered flag at the 2021 Jockey Made in America 250 but he also finished first at Nashville. The Hendrick Motor Sports driver finished ahead of Kurt Busch, Ryan Blaney, Kyle Larson, and Ross Chastain.

Elliott finished eighth at the race before at Sonoma. Sonoma is like the Kwik Trip 250. Both races happen over road courses. We should expect Chase Elliott to put in another good race. But it’s difficult seeing Elliott winning two in a row, which is why he’s the second choice.

Third Top Choice to Win the 2022 Kwik Trip 250

Cristopher Bell offers excellent odds. If you can make a case for Bell to finish first, go for it. The reason we like him third is because he finished twenty-seventh at Sonoma, the last road course event. Bell did finish eighth at Nashville. So, maybe, Cristopher has turned around his form. Bell also finished second in this last year.

But we can’t shake the Sonoma finish. He’s third choice to us, but like we wrote above, if you can make a case for Bell to cross the finish line first, don’t hesitate to back him at the excellent 15-to-1 odds.

Top Underdog Choice to Win the 2022 Kwik Trip 250

Chase Briscoe had a terrible time at Nashville, finishing thirty-fourth. At Sonoma, Chase finished thirteenth. In the race before that, at Worldwide Technology Raceway, Briscoe finished twenty-fourth.

Based on those finishes, he’s a play against. But at the 2021 Jockey Made In America 250, Briscoe finished a decent sixth. He also finished fourth at Charlotte in the Coca-Cola 600 a few weeks back. At the odds, Chase Briscoe is worth a look.
