2021 PGA Shriners Children’s Open Recap

Suing-Jae Im shot a -24 to beat Matthew Wolff by 4 strokes. Wolff finished second with a -20.

Three players finished at -19 and tied for third: Marc Leishman, Rory Sabbatini, and Adam Schenk. Adam Hadwin and Lanto Griffin finished a stroke behind at -18.

Three players finished tied eighth at -17: Hayden Buckley, Aaron Wise, and Harry Hall. Patrick Cantlay, this year’s tournament chalk, didn’t tee off at the 2021 PGA Shriners Children’s Open.

2022 Shriners Children’s Open Top Pick

Suing-Jae Im wasn’t perfect in last year’s Shriners Children’s Open, but he was almost perfect. Im shot a 70 third round, still under par, but not close to the 63 first round, 65 second round, and 62 fourth round.

What you must love about Sung-Jae in this tournament is last year he turned on the jets in the final 18 holes. Im knows this course so well it’s scary. Sung-Jae ended last season playing great golf. He’ll be in the hunt on Sunday. The +1100 odds make Im an overlay.

2022 Shriners Children’s Open Second Pick

MaxHoma heads into this tournament with hot clubs. Homa won the Fortinet Championship in his last tournament played, shooting a -16. Not only did Max win his last tournament played, but he also finished last season playing great golf.

Homa finished a tied fifth at the 2022 Tour Championship. The odds make Homa more than playable. So if you like Max more than Sung-Jae, don’t hesitate to pull the trigger.

2022 Shriners Children’s Open Third Pick

Patrick Cantlay didn’t play in the 2021 Shriners Children’s Open. But that doesn’t mean Patrick has no chance of winning this year’s event. The chalk ended his 2021-2022 PGA Tour Season in fantastic fashion. Cantlay won the BMW Championship and finished a tied seventh at the Tour Championship.

If Patrick has his best sticks working in his first tournament of the season, he can win. The reason he’s third on this list is because the odds make him an underlay.

2022 Shriners Children’s Open Underdog Pick

If Adam Hadwin repeats his 2021 performance this week, Adam should be in the top five heading into the final round. Adam shot a -18 at last season’s Shriners Children’s Open.

Hadwin did not perform well at last week’s Sanderson Farms Championship. But he knows the TPC Summerlin course. A bounce back could be in order. The odds make Hadwin the top underdog on the board.
