2022 Shriners Children’s Open Sleeper Picks
The PGA TOUR makes a quick visit to Vegas not for some action in the casinos, but rather for the 40th running of the Shriners Children’s Open. This week’s selection of sleeper picks like their chances of winning the tournament as an underdog of sorts just as much as the biggest high-roller in Sin City who always throws caution to the wind.
Nitrobetting is here to give the best tips from the betting greens and fairways. This time, take a closer look at the three best sleeper candidates to keep tabs on at the 2022 Shriners Children’s Open, as well as their corresponding golf odds to win the latest installment of the annual tournament held in TPC Summerlin.

Tom Hoge
- 2022 Shriners Children’s Open Odds: +4,500
After garnering over a decade’s worth of experience as a professional golfer, Tom Hoge finally broke through this year with his first-ever PGA TOUR victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February. The 33-year-old out of TCU secured top-12 finishes in three of his last five starts to date, beginning this stretch with a T4 showing in last season’s 3M Open. Hoge also made the cut in five of his six career starts in Vegas, and also bagged three top-25 finishes in the process to make him one of the more enticing sleepers to win this week.
Taylor Pendrith
- 2022 Shriners Children’s Open Odds: +5,000
After a fourth-month layoff due to a rib injury, Canadian standout Taylor Pendrith returned to the TOUR in July to end his 2021-22 PGA TOUR campaign on a strong note, securing four top-13 finishes in his last five starts of the season, including tying for the runner-up position at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit. Pendrith has yet to have a superb start this early into the new season, but many are high on the 31-year-old Canuck to keep his solid post-injury momentum going as a strong sleeper candidate from this week’s field in TPC Summerlin.
Matthew NeSmith
- 2022 Shriners Children’s Open Odds: +6,600
Unlike the first two golfers listed here, Matthew NeSmith has already seen relative success this season, recently taking home a T9 finish at last week’s Sanderson Farms Championship. Not only is the South Carolina native entering the 2022 Shriners Children’s Open with a strong performance, but he’s also proven to be quite a force in Nevada. NeSmith has finished no worse than 18th place in his three career starts at this week’s tournament, whilst averaging a glowing score of 67 at the event during this span.
