Jannik Sinner coming in hot

Jannik Sinner is the man to beat here. The two-time defending champion enters the competition as the eleventh-ranked player and the top seed. He is also the second-youngest player in the top-eleven Men’s Tennis ATP Rankings 2022, which means he possesses great energy and athleticism.

After receiving a bye to the second round, the Italian is expected to open his tournament against Nuno Borges. Borges will go through a qualifier in the first round, while Sixth seed Nikoloz Basilashvili is the next top seed and takes on Spaniard Fernando Verdasco in the opening round. Meanwhile, Fabio Fognini and Aleksandar Vukic are the other two players in the first quarter.

Second quarter features Bulgaria’s hope

On the other hand, the second quarter is headlined by local star Grigor Dimitrov. He holds the third seed in the tournament and received a bye to the second round. The Bulgarian tops the second quarter of draws and will face either Ilya Ivashka or Mikael Ymer in the second round.

Holger Rune is the competition’s fifth seed and will challenge Tim van Rijthoven in the opening round. The latter is the +166 underdog of the match and is the only other seeded player in this group, while Zapata Miralles and Lorenzo Sonego fill in the rest of the spots in the second quarter as +240 underdog and -303 favorite, respectively.

Third and fourth-round appearances

Excitement trickles down to the third and fourth quarters. Fourth seed Lorenzo Musetti returns to the court as a favorite. He is the event’s fourth seed and gets a second-round bye. The Italian will face either Alexandar Lazarov or Jiri Lehecka in the opening round. Jack Draper and Dusan Jajovic will get going in the third quarter, with Draper coming in as a heavy -455 favorite. Meanwhile, Dimitar Kuzmanov is a promising sleeper and wildcard entrant in the first round.

The fourth quarter brings us more action with second seed Pablo Carreno Busta leading the final quarter of the draws. His 2022 Sofia Open campaign starts in the second round. He gets a qualifier match between Marc Andrea Husler in the first round or a qualifier. Eighth seed Oscar Otte is the lone-seeded player in the fourth quarter and faces a qualifier in the first round. Additionally, Ricardas Berankis and Kamil Majchrzak are the remaining players in the draw and are featured in the first round, with the Lithuanian player holding the upper hand as a -152 favorite.
