Which golfer among Thomas, Hovland, Johnson, and Morikawa offers the fairest odds?

Last year, Thomas shot a -7, 10 strokes off Burns. The chalk could improve his score in 2022, but JT doesn’t head into this playing his best golf. He finished 33rd at The Players Championship. At the odds, Thomas is a play against. Morikawa missed the cut at The Players. He won’t miss two cuts in a row, but even then, it’s tough to back Collin at the odds.

So if we decide we’re not backing Morikawa or Thomas, we’re left with Viktor Hovland and Dustin Johnson. DJ heads into this after shooting an incredible 63 at TPC-Sawgrass. But although the final round 63 impressed big time, Johnson shot just -2 at Copperhead last year. Dustin is iffy to win the Valspar.

Viktor Hovland isn’t. The 24-year-old is in great form. He finished ninth at The Players Championship and before that, he finished second at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Also, Hovland shot a -13 at last year’s Valspar. So if you want to back chalk, Viktor Hovland is a great play.

Which golfer or golfers at +2000 to +2800 has the best chance of winning the 2022 Valspar Championship?

Sam Burns and Keegan Bradley finished 1-2 at last year’s Valspar Championship. Both are worth a look to take top honors this weekend. The defending champion had missed 3 straight cuts. But at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Burns shot well enough to finish ninth. Sam followed up his ninth place at the Arnold Palmer with a twenty-sixth at The Players.

If Burns hadn’t shot a final round 76, who knows? He may have finished in the top five. Keegan Bradley finished at -14, 3 strokes off Burns, at last year’s Valspar. Bradley finished eleventh at the Arnold Palmer and fifth at TPC-Sawgrass. So he’s playing well.

What golfers at +3300 to +5000 odds has the best chance of winning this week’s PGA Tournament?

Both Russell Knox and Alex Noren played respectable golf at last year’s Valspar Championship. Knox and Noren finished at -5. Knox played lights out at The Player’s Championship. He shot a fantastic 71-71-68-70 on his way to a -8, good enough to finish sixth. Noren didn’t play as well at TPC-Sawgrass, but he did manage to finish twenty-sixth. Both deserve a look if you want to back a big underdog.
