Among the three favorites, Rahm, Thomas, and Hovland, which has the best shot of winning the 2022 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play tournament?

It’s tough to separate the top three. At first glance, Jon Rahm deserves a long look. Rahm finished tied for fifth at last year’s WGC-Dell Technologies. But the chalk’s current form suggests he doesn’t again finish tied for fifth. Rahm hasn’t shot under par in his last couple of tournaments played. He shot a +2 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, including shooting a third round 74 and a fourth round 74.

Then Rahm shot a +2 at The Player’s Championship. The favorite at the WGC shot a 77 final round at TPC-Sawgrass. Thomas looks like a much better play than Rahm. Although JT tied for forty-second place at last year’s Dell Technologies tournament, he is in better form than the chalk. Thomas finished third at the Valspar Championship last week.

Viktor Hovland finished thirty-third at the Valspar. But before that match, Hovland finished ninth at TPC-Sawgrass and second at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. If you want to bet chalk, consider backing Viktor or JT over Rahm.

Which golfers at +2000 to +2800 odds can win the WGC-Dell Technologies’ top prize?

Last year, Morikawa went 0-2-1 in the group stage at the WGC-Dell Technologies. Collin’s hard to back this year because he missed the cut at The Players Championship and finished sixty-eighth at Valspar. Dustin Johnson, though, could be sitting on a big week. DJ finished ninth at The Players Championship. He finished thirty-ninth at the Valspar, but shot a final round 69, which signals he should have his sticks working at the WGC-Dell Technologies.

The other golfer in this odds range to consider is Scottie Scheffler. Although Scheffler finished fifty-fifth at The Players Championship, he won the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Scheffler finished second behind Horschel in last year’s tourney. Give Scottie a big chance to lift the WGC-Dell Technologies trophy.

Name golfers with +3000 to +3500 odds that can lift this week’s PGA Tournament trophy?

Horschel withdrew from TPC-Sawgrass. But in the tournament before, the Arnold Palmer, he finished second. The defending champion, no doubt, withdrew to prepare for this. So give Billy Horschel a big shot to repeat.

DeChambeau tied for forty-second at the 2021 WGC-Dell Technologies. Bryson hasn’t teed off since The Farmers Insurance Open in late January. The fact he’s entered for this means he feels good enough to play. When DeChambeau is on, he’s one of the top golfers in the world. So at the odds, he’s worth a look to take the top spot.

Is there a golfer or two offering +4500 or higher odds that can gain first place?

At the 2021 WGC-Dell Technologies, Tommy Fleetwood tied for fifth with a 2-0-1 group stage record. Fleetwood is playing well enough to win this year’s tournament. He shot a +3 and finished twentieth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. At TPC-Sawgrass, Fleetwood finished at -5 and in twenty-second place. The underdog finished at -10 and in sixteenth place at the Valspar.

At +5000, Fleetwood is an overlay play to win the 2022 WGC-Dell Technologies. He should excel in match play. So give Tommy a better shot than the odds indicate.
