Novak Djokovic vs. Janik Skinner

  • 2022 Wimbledon Odds: Novak Djokovic -6.5 -115 / Janik Skinner +6.5 -103

Janik Skinner has already played a lot of tennis during the 2022 Wimbledon Tournament. In the first round, it took Skinner four sets to get by Stan Wawrinka. Skinner required another four sets to get by Mikael Ymer in Round 2. Then in the third round, Skinner knocked out 20-seed Jon Isner after four sets. The fourth-round upset victory over Carlos Alcaraz required 5 sets.

So if tennis handicappers are dumping on top seed Novak Djokovic to cover the 6.5 games total, it makes sense. But before counting out Janik, realize that Skinner is 20-year-old, which means he should have no trouble bouncing back from tough matches.

Not only that, but Djokovic required 4 sets to beat Soon Woo Kwon in the first round and four sets to beat Tim van Rijthoven in the fourth round. Skinner has a puncher’s chance to win straight up. Th underdog should definitely keep this to within the spread.

2022 Wimbledon Odds: Janik Skinner

David Goffin vs. Cameron Norrie

  • 2022 Wimbledon Odds: David Goffin +199 / Cameron Norrie -238

Goffin might enter this match somewhat tired. It took the underdog in this 6 sets to get by tough Frances Tiafoe. Three of the sets included 12 games. Another one of the sets included 13 games. The dog has played a lot of tennis.

Cameron Norrie hasn’t played nearly as much. Since requiring 5 sets to get past Jaume Munar in Round 2, Norrie has won his last couple of Wimbledon matches over Steve Johnson and Tommy Paul in straight sets. Norrie is 27-15 in singles matches this season. The chalk prevails.

2022 Wimbledon Odds: Cameron Norrie

Christian Garin vs. Nick Kyrgios

  • 2022 Wimbledon Odds: Christian Garin +300 / Nick Kyrgios -333

21-year-old Chilean star Christian Garin has played great tennis over the grass courts. Garin won his first two matches over Elias Ymer and Hugo Grenier in straight sets. Garin required 4 sets to get by Jenson Brooksby. Then in his fourth-round match, Garin had to rally down 2 sets to beat Alex De Minaur. Christian ended De Minaur’s Wimbledon dreams after 7 sets.

Favored Nick Kyrgios knocked out 26-seed Filip Krajinovic and 4-seed Stefanos Tsitsipas. Kyrgios required 7 sets to beat Tsitsipas. In his last match versus Brandon Nakashima, Kyrgios didn’t hit the showers until after 6 sets. Kyrgios figures to be tired after playing so many games and sets in the last couple of matches. Nick should offer chalk odds, but Garin’s odds make him an overlay. The underdog gets the nod.

2022 Wimbledon Odds: Christian Garin

Taylor Fritz vs. Rafael Nadal

  • 2022 Wimbledon Odds: Ajla Tomljanovic +149 vs. Elena Rybakina -175

This year, Taylor Fritz is playing the best tennis of his career. Fritz will be searching for his third straight championship when he throws down against Rafael Nadal at the Wimbledon Quarterfinals. Fritz won the Rothesby International Eastbourne in late June. Earlier in the year, the underdog in this won the BNP Paribas Open.

In the Wimbledon Quarterfinals, Taylor faces a legend. Rafa required 4 sets to get by 21-seed Botic Van De Zandschulp. But although it took 4 sets, at no point during the match did Nadal look like he was going to lose.

But although the chalk is playing great, Fritz beat Nadal earlier this year to win the BNP Paribas. The young American has the tools to beat Rafa again. Taylor Fritz is the play.
