The 2022 World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba has been a mainstay on the PGA TOUR calendar since 2007 and is one of two tournaments played in Mexico along with the Mexico Open at Vidanta in April of next year. The tournament has undergone several name changes due to sponsorship and this is the second year that World Wide Technology is hosting the event more commonly referred to as the Mayakoba Classic.

A huge prize pool worth $8.2 million is at stake in Riviera Maya, Mexico this week. An additional $1 million in total winnings is added to this year’s tournament after the 2021 run of the tourney handed out a $7.2 million payout. This continues the trend of a majority of PGA TOUR events receiving increases in total prize earnings this 2022-23 campaign.
