The 2023 Belmont Stakes takes place on Saturday, June 10. Like in almost every year, the Belmont is the final race in Horse Racing’s Triple Crown. 2023 Belmont Stakes Trifecta Play

Let’s add Tapit Trice and Hit Show to the third slot. Although neither appears good enough to win on Saturday, Tapit sired runners, Tapit sired Tapit Trice, have thrived in the Belmont Stakes. Also, Todd Pletcher trains Tapit Trice. So if Todd thinks the Bluegrass Stakes winner is ready, we can’t argue.

Hit Show should get a terrific trip. The horse is a solid runner that always gives his best. Hit Show may not be of the same quality as Arcangelo, Tapit Shoes, Forte, and Angel of Empire, but the equine’s heart could get him into the exacta.

If you wish to play a $1 dollar trifecta and then reverse for a buck, you stand to make some money without having to invest too much. The cost for Angel of Empire on top is just $12. So if we play a second trifecta ticket with Angel of Empire in the second slot and Forte, Arcangelo, and Tapit Shoes in the win slot, the cost is another $12.

2023 Belmont Stakes Superfecta Ticket

• First: Angel of Empire
• Second: Forte, Arcangelo, Tapit Shoes

Because only 9 runners will go in the Belmont Stakes, it makes sense to push the All button for the fourth slot on the superfecta.

2023 Belmont Stakes Exacta Ticket

• Key Horse: Angel of Empire
• Use in the Exacta: Forte, Arcangelo, Tapit Shoes

If not for a brutal 7-wide final turn trip in the Kentucky Derby, Angel of Empire would have worn the roses. Angel should be better in the Belmont than he has been at any other time in his career.

They often don’t get worse for trainer Brad Cox. Also, there appears to be enough speed in this to flatter Angel’s incredible turn of foot.

Race favorite Forte has a lot going against him. However, he’s so talented, and so accomplished, that we must use the Pletcher runner in the exacta. The key for Forte will be if he is ready to run 1 ½ miles after not stepping onto a racetrack competitively since winning the Florida Derby on April 1.

Tapit Shoes could be the lone speed. If Johnny V. decides to hold National Treasure back and yield the Belmont Stakes lead to Tapit Shoes, the underdog could go all the way. The Cox trained and Tapit sired runner is a must-use in the exacta.

Arcangelo won the Grade 3 Peter Pan Stakes in his last. If the Jenna Antonucci trained runner improves off the effort, Arc will win the Belmont. The Peter Pan winner has a closing kick that’s as good as Angel of Empire’s.

If you play a $2 exacta with Angel of Empire over Forte, Arcangelo, and Tapit Shoes, your investment will cost $6. If you reverse, with Forte, Arcangelo, and Tapit Shoes over Angel of Empire, your investment will also cost $6.
