2022 PGA Butterfield Bermuda Championship Recap
Seamus Power shot a -19 to beat Thomas Detry by a stroke. Three players followed Detry tied for third at -17, Patrick Rodgers, Kevin Yu, and Ben Griffin.
Two players, Denny McCarthy and Aaron Baddeley, tied for sixth at -16. Justin Lower and Max McGreevy both shot -15. Harrisson Endicott was alone in tenth at -14.
2023 Butterfield Bermuda Championship Top Pick
Things started out okay for Herbert this season. He shot a -7, highlighted by a 63 first round, at the Fortinet Championship to finish a tied thirtieth.
Then, Herbert finished a tied twenty-eighth at the Sanderson Farms Championship after shooting a -10. Herbert scored a couple of rounds below 70 at the Sanderson.
The wheels fell off some when Herbert missed the cut at the Shriners Children’s Open. Lucas bounced back in his last, though, shooting three sub-70 rounds to finish -16 at the World Wide Technology Championship. This week, Lucas steps onto a course he dominated in 2022. Give Herbert a big shot to lift the trophy.
2023 Butterfield Bermuda Championship Second Pick
When Luke List is on, he can hang with the best golfers on the PG Tour. List wasn’t on last season. However, since the new season started, Luke has played great golf.
He took home the Sanderson Farms’ trophy. Then he finished a tied eighteenth at the Shriners Children’s Open.
Although List finished a tied forty-fifth at the World Wide Technology, he shot four rounds under par-70, which should set him up for a decent run at the Butterfield Bermuda. At the odds, Luke List for sure is a good play to win this week’s PGA Touranment.
2023 Butterfield Bermuda Championship Third Pick
Detry played well at the World Wide Technology. Not only that, but he finished a stroke off Seamus Power in this last year.
But although Thomas heads to Bermuda having improved from his first tournament played this season to his second, the odds are light considering he finished fifty-first at the ZOZO and thirty-eighth at the World Wide Technology. Between the 18-to-1 shots, Lucas Herbert is the better play to win.
2023 Butterfield Bermuda Championship Underdog Pick
If you back Kevin Yu to win, make no mistake, you are backing an underdog. Yu has missed the cut in four of the last five tournaments played.
The only tournament where the underdog choice made the cut was the ZOZO Championship in Japan, and that might be because Yu is Chinese. So he didn’t have to adjust to the time difference.
Ah, but although Kevin Yu shouldn’t win the Bermuda Championship, we can’t argue against the odds, and the 55-to-1 shot finished a tied third in this last season. So, maybe, Yu gets it done at a massive payout.
