Maverick McNealy

In terms of overall consistency this season, few come close to the run that Maverick McNealy is having right now. Although the Cali native has yet to experience a professional win, he’s currently playing the best golf of his career. McNealy’s sleeper status to win this week is solidified, as he has four top 10s and has finished no worse than a T27 in his last seven starts, including a new season-high mark of a T7 from the Sony Open in Hawaii several days ago. Furthermore, he also ranks second in scoring average this 2022-23 PGA TOUR season thus far.
Si Woo Kim

We mentioned Si Woo Kim in our feature last week on our sleeper picks for The American Express tournament and the standout from Seoul deserves another nod from us with his spectacular form. Kim won the aforementioned Sony Open in Hawaii for his second-career PGA TOUR victory in the month of January and his fourth win on the TOUR overall. He had a decent T11 finish in last year’s run in Torrey Pines and remains a real threat amongst the other heavy hitters in this week’s field.
J.J. Spaun
- 2023 Farmers Insurance Open Odds: +5,500
Another local worth keeping tabs on this week is J.J. Spaun, who currently has an amazing stretch of four straight starts with a top-15 finish or better (five if we count the QBE Shootout exhibition event). The San Diego State alum’s first and only PGA TOUR victory came not so long ago at the Valero Texas Open last April and his recent form indicates that he’s on the cusp of another win. With the home crowd likely to cheer him on from the greens of Torrey Pines, Spaun is another dark horse pick worth considering placing stakes on this week as well.
