Karolina Muchova vs. Aryna Sabalenka
- When: Thursday, June 8th, 2023
Muchova didn’t play her best earlier in the tournament. Versus Maria Sakkari in her first match, Karolina required a tiebreaker to beat her favored opponent. Then in her second match, Muchova lost a set, 0-6 to Nadia Podoroska.
In her last three matches, versus Irina-Camelia Begu, Alina Avanesyan, and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, the underdog in this has won in straight sets.
No doubt, Muchova is playing great. But Aryna Sabalenka is playing better. Sabalenka has beaten Sloane Stephens and Elina Svitolina in her last two matches. The chalk takes this.
2023 French Open Betting Pick: Aryna Sabalenka -312
Iga Swiatek vs. Beatriz Haddad Maia
- When: Tuesday, June 6th, 2023
Cori Gauff played her heart out in the quarterfinals match against Iga Swiatek. But Swiatek is on a different planet right now, which is why Coco fell 6-4, 6-2.
Beatriz Haddad Maia required three sets and a tiebreaker to get by Ons Jabeur in the quarterfinals. Haddad Maia is a strong player. The 6-1 Maia appears to have a physical edge over Swiatek.
Ah, but tennis is about strength and finesse. So Swiatek wins. Will Iga take this by seven games? It’s not likely. The hook will be meaningful. Iga wins 6-4, 6-4.

Casper Rudd vs. Alexander Zverev
- When: Friday, June 9th, 2023
Both these guys are playing terrific tennis. Rudd beat Holger Rune in his last. Zverev bested Tomas Martin Etcheverry.
It’s tough to look past either one. Rudd has won at least two matches during the French Open, where he stepped onto the clay court an underdog.
Zverev is back to playing his best tennis after suffering an injury last season. Since both can win, Casper should probably be the play. But there’s something about the way Alexander is handling foes in this tournament that suggests he gets it done. The man is on a mission.
2023 French Open Betting Pick: Alexander Zverev -118
Novak Djokovic vs. Carlos Alcaraz
- When: Friday, June 9th, 2023
Djokovic versus Alcaraz is going to be as intense as it gets. Both will go all out in this. The odds suggest Alcaraz easily wins. We know he won’t.
On the flip side, though, Djoker struggled to get by Karen Khachanov. That could be the reason Carlos is such a heavy favorite.
So which of the world’s top two men’s tennis players get it done on Friday? Djokovic knows what’s at stake. Also, Alcaraz may go into this slightly overconfident. Djoker is the play.
