Corey Lajoie

2023 Grant Park 220 Race Odds: +10,000

The 31-year-old continues his partnership with Spire Motorsports in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series. This is his third season driving the No. 7 Chevrolet after departing Go Fas Racing. The North Carolina man earned a pair of top-ten finishes in 2019 with Go Fas. It’s no surprise that the LaJoie surname is cemented in sports. He is a third-generation racer sporting a very historic name in motorsports. Corey’s grandfather, Don, is a member of the New England Auto Racing Hall of Fame, while his father, Randy JaJoie, won the Xfinity Series Championships in 1996 and 1997. However, bearing the surname might come at a price as many expect him to deliver positive results.

Corey currently holds the 21st spot in the driver rankings with 308 points. He’s earned a top-ten and a top-five finish this season, with an average start of 25.647 and an average finish of 19.353.

Harrison Burton

Ryan Preece

Connecticut’s pride, Ryan Preece, pilots the No. 41 Ford for this weekend’s Grant Park 220. He served as a reserve driver for Stewart-Haas Racing before landing a full-time gig with the team. Ryan made select starts across three national series last year, and picked up a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win at Nashville Speedway a year before that. In 2020, Preece earned two top-ten finishes and an average finish of 24.3. He also recorded a top-five and three top-ten finishes in 2019.

The 32-year-old holds plenty of experience since first appearing in the Cup Series six years ago. Preece currently ranks 24th in the standings with 290 points to his name. He continues to look for a top-ten or a top-five finish after 17 appearances. Moreover, the Stewart Haas Racing driver holds an average start of 23.471 and a 21.941 average finish.
