Most of the PGA TOUR’s top stars have already punched their ticket to Royal Liverpool for the 2023 edition of The Open Championship. Stephan Jaeger

  • 2023 John Deere Classic Odds: +3,400

Although Stephan Jaeger’s season isn’t as impressive as one would assume with just a pair of top-10 finishes, his latest top-10 showing came just last week with a solid T9 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. The German who’s tied for the second-most wins on the Korn Ferry Tour has yet to win on the PGA TOUR level, but that could all change this week. Jaeger has gone 8-for-8 in his most recent starts, with half of them being top-25 finishes, and that’s enough for him to be considered an intriguing sleeper pick to win the John Deere Classic.

Alex Smalley

  • 2023 John Deere Classic Odds: +3,400

Having similar success of late as Jaeger is 29-year-old Alex Smalley, who currently sits at No. 55 in the FedExCup standings. The Duke product also has four top-25 finishes across seven starts since the start of May, with his T9 finish at the Travellers Championship being his best performance of the season since his back-to-back top-5s in November. Smalley even had a sweet T16 finish here at TPC Deere Run last year, making him another noteworthy sleeper candidate to win his maiden PGA TOUR title.

Lucas Glover

  • 2023 John Deere Classic Odds: +5,900

Nobody is giving former John Deere Classic winner Lucas Glover much attention these days. After all, the Greenville native has missed the cut in 10 of his 21 starts this season. On the other hand, the 2009 U.S. Open champion won at TPC Deere Run just a couple of years ago as his last victory on the TOUR. In addition, Glover is coming off a spectacular T4 showing in Detroit last week to go with his T20 finish at the RBC Canadian Open. This brief spark of momentum and experience in this week’s course makes Glover a high-value sleeper pick to reclaim his throne in Silvis this weekend.
