2022 F1 Monaco GP Recap

Max Verstappen seemed to win every race last year. But although Max seemed to win every race, he didn’t win the Monaco Grand Prix.

Instead of Max, Sergio Perez took the checkered flag. Verstappen, Perez’s teammate, finished third.

Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz finished second. Fourth place went to Charles Leclerc and George Russell Finished fifth.

Top Pick to Win the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix

Sergio Perez has won two of the first five events in this F1 Season. Perez took the checkered flag at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

He then won the trophy at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in late April. Perez beat Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen by 1 and a half minutes in last year’s Monaco Grand Prix.

Although Verstappen is a danger, which is why we pick him second, Perez offers much better odds than the favorite. Backing Sergio to go even with Max at 3 wins each makes sense.

Second Pick to Win the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix

For the first time in a long time, Max Verstappen offers above even money odds to win a Formula 1 race. Sergio Perez has had a great season so far, but Verstappen still leads on the drivers standings.

Verstappen has won the Bahrain Grand Prix, the Australian Grand Prix, and the Miami Grand Prix. It’s not a stretch to see Max winning his second straight race on Sunday.

About this time last year is when Team Verstappen took over and dominated the rest of the season. History could repeat itself.

Third Pick to Win the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix

Fernando Alonso drives for Aston Martin, which isn’t the same as driving for Red Bull, Mercedes, or Ferrari. With that being said, Alonso has finished third in four of the last five races.

Alonso finished fourth at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Fernando finished third at the Saudi Arabia GP, the Bahrain Grand Prix, the Miami GP, and the Australian Grand Prix.

He will likely finish third again. If you believe Alonso breaks through, though, you’re getting decent odds.

Top Underdog Pick to Win the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix

Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz has a couple of fifth place finishes and a fourth place finish to his credit. Sainz has yet to crack the Top 3, which is why his odds are at +3000 to win this.

But although Sainz hasn’t stepped to the podium, he’s worth a look if you want to back an underdog. Carlos finished second in this last season.

Sainz must close a 1 minute and 15 seconds gap to get to Perez. If you believe it’s possible, consider. The odds are certainly worth taking a look.
