2022 Pennzoil 400 Recap
Hendrick finished 1-2 in last year’s Pennzoil 400. But the two Hendrick drivers who crossed the finish line first and second weren’t Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson.
Instead of Chase, Alex Bowman won the race and Larson finished second. Ross Chastain got third place. Fourth place went to Kyle Busch and William Byron finished fifth. Elliott finished ninth.
Top Choice to Win the 2023 Pennzoil 400
The odds are lighter than one would like, but the thing is, Ross Chastain is driving great. Chastain finished ninth at the Daytona 500 after starting third.
Then he started eighth at Auto Club Speedway before finishing third. Ross is for sure driving well enough to win this. To add to the Ross Chastain will take the checkered flag thesis, Chastain finished third behind Larson and Bowman at last year’s Pennzoil 400.
Second Top Choice to Win the 2023 Pennzoil 400
Kyle Busch changed teams from Joe Gibbs to Richard Childress and already it’s paying dividends. The chalk to win on Sunday pocketed the top prize at last Sunday’s Pala Casino 400.
The first victory under the Richard Childress Racing banner won’t be the last. In this event in 2022, Kyle finished fourth. He could easily beat that finish on Sunday, which makes Kyle Busch a legit favorite.
If you don’t mind the odds, go for it. Kyle is driving with determination and he looks happy. Those are two positives to backing arguably the most talented driver in NASCAR.
Third Top Choice to Win the 2023 Pennzoil 400
Kyle Larson entered his race car at the Pala Casino at Auto Club Speedway last Sunday the chalk to win the race. Things didn’t turn out well.
We wish we could say Kyle ran into engine trouble or got into a crash. Nope. He started fifteenth and faded to twenty-ninth.
No doubt, Larson will make up for the bad finish at the Auto Club with a great performance in Vegas. Larson finished second in this last season. So he can definitely bounce back.
Top Underdog Choice to Win the 2023 Pennzoil 400
In last Sunday’s race, the top underdog play finished eighth. The eighth place finish came a race after Bowman won the pole position at the Daytona 500 and then finished fifth.
It’s apparent that Alex is starting out the NASCAR Season on fire. Bowman won the Pennzoil 400 last year. The top underdog play has a better shot of taking home the checkered flag than the odds suggest.
