A massive prize purse worth $15 million is on the line in Rochester this week. Although the total payout amount has not changed from the previous year, and there have been a handful of other tournaments with more significant prize pools from earlier this season already, the PGA Championship’s major status is enough to draw only the best professional golfers (and no amateur invites at that) to wherever the event takes them.
