Ryan Fox

  • 2023 Valero Texas Open Odds: +4,500

New Zealand’s Ryan Fox is a relative newcomer to the PGA TOUR scene. Although, the 36-year-old Auckland native has been quite the revelation, though, as his experience was on full display with a T17-T27-T14 stretch across his three starts in March far that culminated in last week’s WCG Match Play event. All of Fox’s PGA TOUR starts this year have been debuts and this week’s tournament is also his maiden start in San Antonio, making him a very appealing sleeper pick to win it all as a surprising debutante packing great value odds-wise.

Matt Wallace

  • 2023 Valero Texas Open Odds: +5,000

Huge props go out to Matt Wallace for winning his first PGA TOUR event in the Dominican Republic last week. Not only is the Englishman coming off a huge victory regardless of the relatively weak competition, but he also had a solid T7 finish at the Valspar Championship the week prior. Wallace even took home the bronze medal during his debut start in San Antonio back in 2021 to further boost his sleeper status and possibly win back-to-back events for even more momentum heading into Augusta.

Andrew Putnam

  • 2023 Valero Texas Open Odds: +5,000

It’s pretty much been a feast or famine type of season for Andrew Putnam, who has two top-five finishes under his belt along with a T9 in last week’s WGC event but was cut from all three of his starts in February. The stats would indicate that the Tacoma native has been consistent with his game, though, ranking seventh this season in strokes gained via putting and 40th overall in total strokes gained. Putnam also had a T8 finish in San Antonio back in 2018, so he also has some decent experience that will go a long way toward capturing his second PGA TOUR victory as another decent sleeper candidate of the week.
