Why Bet on the Arizona Diamondbacks to Win the 2023 World Series?
Torey Lovullo is the best manager in Major League Baseball. Lovullo is old school, meaning he goes back to fundamental baseball strategy to put Zona into position to win games.
Lovullo uses pinch hitters, has some of his top batters bunt runners into scoring position, and strategizes around how many pitches and innings his starters throw.
For example, in Game 7 against the Phillies, Lovullo knew starter Brandon Pfaadt was going to throw no longer than 5.2 innings. So when Lovullo pulled Pfaadt before the start of the fifth, it shouldn’t have surprised anybody.
The AZ manager knows that if he can get to his bullpen with a lead, the D’Backs will win. The reason is because Paul Sewald and Kevin Ginkel are close to unhittable. Ryan Thompson, Miguel Castro, and Kyle Nelson are excellent.
Why Bet on the Texas Rangers to Win the 2023 World Series?
The Rangers faced the top two seeds, Baltimore and Houston, in the American League Playoffs. Texas swept the Orioles and then beat the Stros in two straight games in Houston. Not only that, but the Rangers also beat the favored Tampa Bay Rays in a wildcard series 2 games to 0.
Contrary to popular opinion, the Texas Rangers are much more than just a high-scoring team. Texas acquired Max Scherzer to lead their starting rotation at the trade deadline.
Scherzer is the ace on a rotation that also includes Nathan Eovaldi and Jordan Montgomery. What makes the rotation so difficult to hit against is that Eovaldi and Montgomery have thrown lights out throughout the postseason.
Max is throwing back into his best form. So Scherzer will be better versus the D’Backs in the World Series than he was against Houston in the playoffs.
2023 World Series Analysis & Prediction
Rangers versus Diamondbacks should go seven because Bruce Bochy, Texas’s manger, is as savvy as Lovullo. So the two managers will strategize before and switch things up throughout each game.
But at the end, although Bochy and the Rangers are strong across the board, Lovullo and the D’Backs lift the trophy. Arizona’s bullpen is slightly better, which means Lovullo can go to his BP at the start of the fifth instead of having to wait until after the fifth. Bruce Bochy must hope that his starter lasts until at least the end of the sixth.
Not only that, but Merrill Kelly and ace Zac Gallen have thrown great while Brandon Pfaadt is dialed in. Pfaadt struck out 16 Phillies in just 9.2 innings. The Arizona Diamondbacks win the World Series in 7.
