The 2023 Wyndham Championship is one of the older tournaments on the PGA TOUR calendar, with its origins dating back to 1938 when it was still referred to as the Greater Greensboro Open. Multi-billion hotel company Wyndham Hotels and Resorts has sponsored the tournament since 2007.

A huge prize purse worth $7.6 million is at stake in the Sedgefield Country Club this week. That’s a slight uptick in total payout from last year’s $7.3 million prize purse (a $300,000 increase), as the PGA TOUR continues to improve its prize pools across the board and year-on-year.
