Akshay Bhatia missed the cut at The Open Championship, which doesn’t surprise. The Open happens over a links course, which is often different from what American players are used to hitting a golf ball from.
Before The Open Championship, Akshay had been playing great. He finished fifth at the Travelers Championship and second at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Bhatia should go back to striking the ball well from the tee. If that happens, he will out play his odds.

Like Akshay Bhatia, Sahith Theegala couldn’t handle the rough and tumble Royal Troon course, bowing out before the third round after missing the cut. Also like Bhatia, Theegala headed to Royal Troon after a terrific performance, finishing fourth at the Genesis Scottish Open.
For sure, Sahith can win this. His overall form is decent. Theegala made the cut in four straight tournaments, including the U.S. Open where he finished thirty-second. The slight difference in odds is why Bhatia gets the nod over Theegala. But if you like Sahith more, go for it because he’s playing well.

The world’s thirtieth ranked golfer has made the cut in five straight. The run of cuts made includes both the U.S. Open and The Open Championship.
Sam Burns finished thirty-first at The Open Championship. He could have finished much higher. Sam shot a 69-second round and 65 third round. The 76 in Round 1 and fourth round 80 ended his chances of finishing in the top 20. If Burns is consistent this week, he’s another that can lift the hardware.
