For the first time, NASCAR heads to Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa for the inaugural Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol. Iowa Speedway is a four-turn track. Drivers will race for 306.25 miles, which equates to 350 laps. So far, NASCAR bettors have made Joe Gibbs driver Christopher Bell the favorite, followed by Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin. Top Choice to Win the 2024 Iowa Corn 350

Denny Hamlin had no chance at last week’s Toyota Save Mart 350. Although Hamlin was one of the favorites, engine trouble ended Denny’s afternoon early. His official finish was thirty-eighth.

Most expect Hamlin to bounce back with a terrific effort at the Iowa Corn 350. Before the last, Hamlin had finished fifth at Charlotte and second at World Wide Technology Raceway. Earlier this year, Hamlin won at Dover.

Any return to form makes Hamlin a decent play. Unless his crew hasn’t gotten the car right, Hamlin should be right there at the end. Also, the +700 odds on the Gibbs driver are fair.

Second Choice to Win the 2024 Iowa Corn 350

While teammate Kyle Larson, who on the Toyota Save Mart, has picked it up, William Byron’s form has gone south. In the last couple of races, Byron finished fifteenth at World Wide Technology Raceway and thirtieth at Sonoma.

Earlier this season, after finishing thirty-third at Dover and twenty-third at Kansas, Byron produced a sixth place finish at Darlington. There’s a good chance that Byron produces a similar result in this. If things break his way, William could grab the checkered flag. So consider for the top spot if you don’t like Hamlin’s chances.

Third Choice to Win the 2024 Iowa Corn 350

The second choice in this had a great race at the Toyota Save Mart, crossing the finish line first. For sure, Kyle Larson can make it back to back.

But while Larson always seems to finish fast, he doesn’t always win. Sonoma was just his third win of the season. So Kyle is tough to make the top choice. However, if you think he goes on a run, grab him at +500 because if Larson wins on Sunday, his odds in the next race could fall to below +400.

Top Underdog to Win the 2024 Iowa Corn 350

The odds make Ross Chastain an overlay. The +2500 top underdog choice raced great at Sonoma, finishing fifth.

Chastain hasn’t finished worse than twelfth in the last 5 events, which makes him a viable play to get his first win of the year on Sunday. For sure, Chastain is worth a look and, again, nobody can argue that he’s offering an overlay price. Consider if you want to back a longshot.
