2024 John Deere Classic Top Pick

The 26-year-old Sungjae Im has missed the cut in two of his last six tournaments played. But the missed cuts happened at the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open, a couple of major tournaments where he had to take on the best in the world.

Heading into this, Im is on fire. Sungjae finished ninth at the Charles Schwab and eighth at the Memorial. At the Travelers, he finished third after shooting 67-64-63-66. Im might have his competition over a barrel. So the +2000 odds makes Sungjae a fantastic play to lift the John Deere Classic trophy.

2024 John Deere Classic Second Pick

Jordan Spieth isn’t playing great golf. Still, this is the type of tournament where Jordan can get back on track.

The second pick has missed the cut in just one tournament in the last six he has played. The missed cut happened at the Memorial, which means Spieth made the cut at both the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open. Any improvement upon the forty-first of the Travelers should put Spieth in the running. Like Sungjae, Jordan mustn’t deal with Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa, or Xander Schauffele, the level of competition he’s used to playing against.

2024 John Deere Classic Third Pick

It makes sense why Patrick Cantlay is the chalk. The +900 top odds choice has turned his game around big time in the last couple of tournaments, the U.S. Open and the Travelers.

Cantlay finished third at the U.S. Open and fifth at the Travelers. But there is a potential profit chasm between +900 and +2000. Patrick doesn’t have that much more of a chance of winning the John Deere than Sungjae Im, which is why we can’t endorse Cantlay to take home the trophy.

2024 John Deere Classic Underdog Pick

The defending champion isn’t having a great year. Fowler missed the cut at the Memorial and the U.S. Open. Still, he’s worth a look.

After a missed cut at the PGA Championship, Denny McCarthy started to get it going. Denny finished thirty-ninth or better at the Charles Schwab, the Memorial, the U.S. Open, and the Travelers.

Last year, McCarthy finished a tied sixth in this after signing a -16 scorecard. Sepp Straka won with a -21. So McCarthy doesn’t have much ground to make up. The +3000 odds are slightly overlaid on this week’s top underdog play.
