2024 Wimbledon Men’s Quarterfinals Matchups

Jannik Sinner vs. Daniil Medvedev

  • When: Tuesday, July 9th

Like he did at the Australian Open, which he won, and at Roland Garros, Jannik Sinner has stepped up his game at a major tournament. Sinner blasted his first four opponents.

Jannik has gotten stronger as Wimbledon has continued. Sinner beat Blake Shelton and Miomir Kecmanovic in straight sets in his last two matches.

5-seed Daniil Medvedev got a breather in his fourth round victory over Grigor Dimitrov. After going up 5 games to 3, Dimitrov retired due to a physical issue. Medvedev got a chance to gain extra rest.

The extra rest should help Daniil, who is no stranger to major quarterfinals. Although he hasn’t won a singles title this season, he has bounced back from a subpar 2023, going 28-9 in singles matches.

Sinner versus Medvedev will be a fantastic match. But at the end, Sinner is the player to back. Jannik won the Australian Open and only lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the French Open Semifinals after a 5-set gem.

Medvedev will give it his all, but Sinner wears him down. Expect a 3 set or 4 set victory. If the spread line is decent, back Jannik to cover.

Tennis Betting Pick: Jannik Sinner -435

Carlos Alcaraz vs. Tommy Paul

The French Open winner is looking to add another major title victory. Carlos Alcaraz has picked up where he left off at Roland Garros, easily handling his foes.

Alcaraz Frances Tiafoe and Ugo Humbert in his last two matches. Facing 12-seed Tommy Paul won’t faze Carlos, who is dead set on making it to the Wimbledon Final.

Since struggling against Otto Virtanen in the second round, Tommy Paul has excelled, beating both Alexander Bublik and Roberto Bautista Agut in straight sets.

Paul required a tiebreaker to score the second set win over Agut. He got it 7-3. Heading into his match against Alcaraz, Paul is at the top of his game.

Alcaraz should be the heavy favorite, but Carlos has had moments where he hasn’t played as well as he could. Alcaraz dropped a set to Humbert 1-6 and had to rally to get the victory.

For sure, Paul isn’t as good as Alcaraz is on his best day. But Carlos has played a lot of tennis in recent months, including 10 combined sets versus Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev at Roland Garros.

In the last two matches, Alcaraz has played a combined 9 sets versus Tiafoe and Humbert and a tiebreaker. Paul will take advantage. Taking a swing on the dog makes sense.

Tennis Betting Pick: Tommy Paul +300
