2025 NFL Week 2 Betting Preview

After a wild NFL Week 1 where Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills provided one of the most amazing comebacks in NFL History versus Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, we turn our attention to NFL Week 2. Things start with a bang on Thursday when Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders head to Green Bay to take on Jordan Love and the Packers. On Sunday, rivalries are in order when the Cowboys host the Giants, the Bills take on the Jets, and the Patriots throw down against the Dolphins. Washington Commanders vs. Green Bay Packer

• When: Thursday, September 11th. 8:15 p.m. ET

• NFL Week 2 Odds: Commanders +150 / Packers -182

Before Green Bay smashed the Detroit Lions in NFL Week 1, the line was Packers -1.5. So much money has already poured into Green Bay that the Pack is now at -3.5. That’s a massive move.

The Commanders are a solid club, but Green Bay is firing on all cylinders. Micah Parsons is already having a significant impact, and if you dig into the stats, Daniels wasn’t as sharp versus the Giants as one might think—Packers cover.

2025 NFL 2 Pick: Packers -3.5

New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys

• When: Sunday, September 14th. 1:00 p.m. ET

• NFL Week 2 Odds: Giants +210 / Cowboys -263

2025 is the same as 2024 and the same as 2023. The New York Giants’ offense is a disaster. Unless Jaxon Dart gets the start, and even if he does, the G-Men aren’t likely to keep up with a Cowboys squad that should move the ball easily and score a couple of touchdowns.

Dart or Russell Wilson will struggle against a Dallas defense that is much better than many expected. The D traded Parsons but picked up some decent players, especially Kenny Clark, who had a great game versus the Eagles. Lay the points.

2025 NFL 2 Pick: Cowboys -6

New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins

• When: Sunday, September 14th. 1:00 p.m. ET

• NFL Week 2 Odds: Patriots +105 / Dolphins -125

This is a great game to bet on. Two teams are struggling big time. The key will be how Miami’s defense handles the Patriots’ rushing attack.

For sure, the Patriots could have played much better in the loss to the Raiders. Rookie Treyveon Henderson, though, should have his own way versus a Miami defense that gave up 156 rushing yards to the Colts. The Fins have zero fire in their belly and looked tired and lost in Week 1. This might be a good moneyline play if the line holds.

2025 NFL 2 Pick: Patriots +1.5

Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets

• When: Sunday, September 14th. 1:00 p.m. ET

• NFL Week 2 Odds: Bills -312 / Jets +245

Unless you’re a Steelers fan, you have to feel for the Jets. NYJ showed a lot of grit when falling to Aaron Rodgers and Pittsburgh, 34-32. Justin Fields is for sure a legit QB1 in the league after almost pulling off the home upset win.

On Sunday, the Jets face arguably the best team in the NFL. But the Bills are coming off the miracle victory over the Ravens. A bounce is in order. Back the Jets to cover the inflated line and consider a small play on the ML.

2025 NFL 2 Pick: Jets +7

Carolina Panthers vs. Arizona Cardinals

• When: Sunday, September 14th. 4:05 p.m. ET

• NFL Week 2 Odds: Panthers +230 / Cardinals -286

What’s up with Carolina? They looked horrible. Horrendous is a better word. The Panthers were trash in their opening loss to Jacksonville. It was as if Bryce Young had forgotten he was in his third season.

The Cards played okay when beating the Saints in a non-cover. The fact is that New Orleans has a decent defense, a decent offensive line, and Kellen Moore can coach. So the Saints aren’t as bad as advertised.

AZ should be much tighter in their home opener. This has the makings of a blowout victory. So at -4.5, the Cardinals are an overlay.

2025 NFL 2 Pick: Cardinals +6.5

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Houston Texans

• When: Monday, September 15th. 7:00 p.m. ET

• NFL Week 2 Odds: Buccaneers +120 / Texans -143

C.J. Stroud is a great player. He almost willed the Texans to a win over the Rams in NFL Week 1. If Houston had scored touchdowns instead of field goals, they would have beaten L.A.

The Texans’ defense is legit, but Baker Mayfield has more weapons and a much better offensive line. Houston’s O-line was a question mark heading into Week 1. It performed well, but then minor injuries started piling up, and the Rams’ D locked down in the second half. Here’s another potential moneyline play. Taking the points is the way to go.
