The Chiefs Are in Must-Win Mode
For the first time since 2014, the Kansas City Chiefs are in a must-win situation heading into their NFL Week 3 matchup with the New York Giants. The reason is a brutal first two-game schedule where the Chargers, who look like the class of the NFC West, put a beatdown on KC in Brazil, and the defending champion Philly Eagles bottled up KC’s offense in a 20-17 victory.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs head to the Meadowlands for the Sunday Night Football matchup as a -5.5 chalk. But before laying the dollars on KC, it’s worth noting that as of Wednesday, the line hasn’t moved, which means Kansas City isn’t attracting the type of action that says they grab a cover victory. Also, the Giants dropped 37 points on the Cowboys in a road loss in Week 2.
Can the Chiefs go 0-3? It’s possible. The setup in New York isn’t as favorable for Kansas City as it appears. Beware if you were thinking of dumping on Magic Mahomes and the Chiefs to get their first win of the season.
Miami is Ready to Bounce McDaniel
Mike McDaniel claims he’s not worried about his job. Maybe he isn’t. If he knows his fate is sealed, why worry about it?
There’s almost zero chance the Miami Dolphins don’t start the season 0-3. After losing to a couple of teams many expected them to beat, the Colts in Week 1 and the Patriots in Week 2, the Fins must deal with the scorching Buffalo Bills.
Buffalo’s defense had a challenging assignment in Week 1, dealing with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. But in Week 2, the Bills dominated Justin Fields and the Jets. It was so bad for the J-E-T-S that Fields ended up on the bench.
McDaniel could get the boot by Friday. Miami paid a lot of money to its guy, Tua Tagovailoa, who hasn’t developed into the signal-caller McDaniel envisioned. Tua has 3 TDs and 3 INTs in two games. He doesn’t appear overly concerned.
That’s just it. No player on the field seems worried about how the season has gone so far. The lack of urgency is why McDaniel will be jobless after Thursday. He doesn’t seem to have a plan or care enough, as the season is already toast after three weeks.
Lions and Ravens Roar in Week 2. Which Teams Come Out on Top in NFL Week 3’s Collision Course Matchup?
The Ravens lost a close one to the Bills in NFL Week 1, while the Lions looked like one of the worst teams in the league in a loss to the Packers. Both teams bounced back in NFL Week 2.
Baltimore dusted an overmatched Cleveland Browns team at home while the Lions dropped 52 points onto former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and the Chicago Bears. Which team, Lamar Jackson’s Ravens or Jared Goff’s Lions, comes out on top in Monday night’s massive game?
Jared and the Lions looked fantastic versus Chicago. However, the Bears have, at least so far, been horrific on defense. The Vikings’ rookie J.J. McCarthy, who didn’t play a down last season due to injury, scored 27 in Week 1. Then in Week 2, the Bears gave up 52 to the Lions.
The Ravens can score on Detroit. Also, the game happens in Baltimore. So, although the Lions will put up a fight, Lamar and his mates should do enough to cover the -4.5 spread. Go, Baltimore, if you’re thinking of action on Monday night’s contest.
