Bengals vs. Buccaneers 2021 NFL Preseason Week 1 Odds and Preview
The Cincinnati Bengals step into the field for the first time in the NFL preseason as they head to Tampa Bay for a clash with the Buccaneers. It’s the Bucs’ first game since taking down the Chiefs in Super Bowl LV. The preseason this year will be shorter due to the addition of a 17th game, so both teams will have to finalize their rosters over the next couple of weeks. After coming off a 4-11-1 record last year, the Bengals are ready to bounce back and make their way to the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers’ 11-5 record was able to propel them to the postseason and a shot at the Super Bowl trophy, which they won.

Why Bet on the Cincinnati Bengals?
Cincinnati looks to move on from a disastrous 2020 season following a 4-11-1 record and a fourth-place finish in the AFC North. Looking at the brighter side, this was a major improvement from its 2019 season. However, it still wasn’t enough to give the team a ticket to the postseason, leaving the Bengals out of the playoff picture for five straight years.
The Bengals enter their third year with coach Zac Taylor at the helm. Things might be different for the team this season as star receiver AJ Green takes a different career path, but rookie wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase from LSU will attempt to fill his shoes. Joe Burrow is also still trying to get his body back into top shape after a season-ending injury in 2020.
At the moment, the team faces several injuries. Larry Ogunjobi and Riley Reiff won’t be suiting up for the Bengals in the upcoming game, making it more difficult to predict what might happen. Nevertheless, this is the time for teams to figure out how they want to shape their roster up by the end of the summer. We are bound to see backup players, third-stringers, and even fourth-string players taking the field.
With several question marks surrounding the offensive line, the Bengals might have a difficult time scoring. But looking at the team’s defense, they might stand a chance at putting pressure on a Buccaneers lineup with reserve players on the field.
Why Bet on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?
The Buccaneers were on fire in 2020 following Tom Brady’s first year in Tampa. His introduction to the team led to positive results. He should be relied upon to deliver once again for the Buccaneers in the 2021 NFL season. Tampa Bay finished 11-5 in the regular season for a second-place finish in the NFC South and a Wild Card spot in 2020.
Eventually, they sent home Washington in the Wild Card game, then proceeded to take out the Saints in the Divisional Playoffs and the Packers in the NFC Championship. The Buccaneers completed their incredible run with a dominating 31-9 performance over the Chiefs in the Super Bowl LV.
Although we might not see the Bucs go all out in the preseason game, we get to see how the reserves operate. Brady’s pursuit of greatness is fun to watch, but the Bucs need to protect him from injury. There’s no sense in risking his health in the preseason game, especially with a 17-game season ahead of the team. But with the key players from their Super Bowl LV victory along with a good selection of young talent, the team looks forward to another deep run.

Bengals vs. Buccaneers Expert Betting Predictions
Despite not having starters on the line, Tampa Bay still gets the edge over the Bengals. With this being the first preseason game for both teams, we’re not likely to see big names on the field. This will be more of a tune-up game for the youngsters and new players on the roster. However, with the Bucs’ 22 starters from their Super Bowl-winning team in place, things look good for the team. The Bengals might have a shot at snatching the victory only if the Bucs put their guard down, but covering the spread should be doable for the team.
