Top Boxing Betting Picks of the Week (March 6th, 2023)

Yoka vs. Takam – Zenith de Paris la Villette, Paris, France (ESPN+)

  • When: Saturday, March 11, 2023. 2:00pm ET.

Toni Yoka vs. Carlos Takam

Yoka versus Takam should be a decent bout. Carlos Takam has a 39-7-1 record.

Takam has lost his last two fights, but they were against then undefeated opponents. Joe Joyce was 12-0 when Carlos lost in July 2021. Takam faced 14-0 Arslanbek Makhmudov last September and lost via unanimous decision.

Tony Yoka is 11-1 with 9 stoppage victories. Yoka lost his last via majority decision to Martin Bakole. The favorite should bounce back with a victory in this. Yoka has a 12-year age advantage because Toni is 30 and Carlos is 42.

Boxing Betting Pick: Toni Yoka -667

Tszyu vs. Harrison – Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney Olympic Park, New South Wales (Showtime)

  • When: Saturday, March 11, 2023. 10:45pm ET.

Paulo Aokuso vs. Yunieski Gonzalez // IBO Inter Continental Light Heavyweight Title

21-5 underdog Yunieski Gonzalez is no joke. The +375 dog has way more experience than 3-0 Paulo Aokuso.

Gonzalez, though, will bring a 2-fight losing streak into the ring. Yunieski fell via TKO to Andre Dirrell and Gilberto Ramirez in his last two bouts.

Paulo Aokuso is 3-0 with 3 knockout wins. Paulo has power for days, which is why, although this is the chalk’s toughest test to date, Aokuso gets the nod.

Boxing Betting Pick: Paulo Aokuso -556

Isaac Hardman vs. Rohan Murdock // IBF Australasian Super Middleweight Title

Murdock versus Hardman should be one of the most competitive bouts on the entire Showtime card. Hardman, the slight favorite, is 13-1 with 11 stoppage victories.

Hardman’s loss came two bouts ago. He bounced back from losing to Michael Zerafa with a first round knockout victory over Beau Hartas.

Rohan Murdock has a 26-2 record. Murdock has power. He’s stopped 19 of his opponents. But Rohan hasn’t fought the type of competition that Hardman has. The chalk is the pick.

Boxing Betting Pick: Isaac Hardman -152

Sam Goodman vs. TJ Doheny // WBO Oriental, IBF Inter Continental Super Bantamweight Title

TJ Doheny is 23-3 with 17 KO or TKO wins. Doheny fought last March, beating Caesar Juarez via second round technical knockout.

The underdog takes on a tough customer in Sam Goodman. The favorite is 13-0 with 7 knockout victories. Goodman has fought and beaten the better opponents. The favorite wins.

Boxing Betting Pick: Sam Goodman -400

Tim Tszyu vs. Tony Harrison // Interim WBO World Super Welterweight Title

Tony Harrison is a good boxer. Harrison has a great 29-3-1 record. In his last, Harrison beat a 33-1 Sergio Garcia via unanimous decision.

Tszyu is 21-0. Like his father, Kostya, Tim has the ability to win via stoppage or pile up points. Tszyu has 15 victories via knockout or technical knockout.

The difference in this should be Tim’s ability to connect to Tony’s body. Tszyu is a great body puncher. Although Harrison will keep this close early, Tszyu figures to wear down his opponent with strong body punches. Tim Tszyu gets the win.

Boxing Betting Pick: Tim Tszyu -250
