Top Boxing Betting Picks of the Week – November 18th, 2022
This weekend, boxing takes a breather. There are a couple of championship bouts. But the title fights aren’t at the level we’re used to seeing in the U.S. Still, even though championship action isn’t in the cards this weekend, it doesn’t mean there are no boxing matches to handicap. Check out analysis and free picks for five of the top boxing events happening on Saturday, Nov. 19.

RCC Boxing Night – RCC Boxing Academy, Ekaterinburg, Russia (YouTube)
- When: Saturday, Nov. 19th, 2022. 8:00am ET.
Mark Urvanov vs. Renee Alvarado
Argentinian boxer Renee Alvarado sports a 32-12 record with 21 knockouts. Alvarado fought then 25-0 and now 27-0 William Zepeda in May this year. Zepeda beat Alvarado, but Renee hung with the undefeated pugilist.
The loss was Renee’s fourth straight. The good news regarding the loss is that it happened, like the previous 3, via unanimous decision. Mark Urvanov has a 21-3-1 record. The 26-year-old Russian has knocked out 10 of his opponents. The record implies Urvanov should easily handle Alvarado.
But Mark has never fought outside the RCC Boxing Academy. This takes place at the RCC as well. The difference is that Alvarado has thrown down with some of the best in the division. Renee ends the losing streak.
Boxing Betting Pick: Renee Alvarado +160
Davies vs. Baluta – Telford International Centre, Telford, Shropshire, England (ESPN+)
- When: Saturday, Nov. 19th, 2022. 2:00pm ET.
Jamie Stewart vs. Owen Cooper
Jamie “The King” Stewart has a 3-2-2 record. The record isn’t great. At least Jamie hasn’t suffered a stoppage loss. Then again, Stewart hasn’t won a fight via stoppage, either.
Owen Cooper boasts a 6-0 record. The 22-year-old shows technical knockout wins in 2 of his last 3. The victories came against boxers that aren’t on Jamie’s level.
Cooper will probably win, but he’s impossible to back. Owen has beaten some terrible boxers. Fonz Alexander, as an example, has a 7-138-1 record. The odds make Stewart more than playable.
Boxing Betting Pick: Jamie Stewart +300
Liam Davis vs. Ionut Baluta // EBU European Super Bantamweight Title
Davis versus Baluta is for a couple of belts: the EBU European Super Bantamweight and the WBC International Super Bantamweight.
Underdog Baluta is a decent boxer. He’s thrown with some tough guys like Brad Foster and Michael Conlan. Ionut lost a majority decision to Conlan, which means he hung with the fan favorite.
Favored Liam Davis is 12-0 with 5 knockout or technical knockout wins. Baluta has just 3 KO victories. This is a tough fight for Davis. Baluta has more experience against better competition. The odds make Davis an underlay, which is why backing Ionut makes sense.
Boxing Betting Pick: Ionut Baluta +175
Goulamirian vs. Egorov – La Palestre, Le cannet, France
- When: Saturday, Nov. 19th, 2022. 2:00pm ET.
Arsen Goulamirian vs. Alexey Egorov
Alexey Egorov is 11-0 with 7 knockout victories. Egorov travels from Russia to France to take on the WBA Super World Cruiserweight titlist.
It’s interesting that Goulamirian has a WBA strap, but he’s fought almost exclusively in France. There are a couple of fights on Goulamirian’s record that happened in Belgium. Goulamirian’s record is 26-0 with 18 KO or TKO wins.
The chalk faces a dude his size on Saturday. It shouldn’t matter, though. Egorov has some talent, but he’s much too slow to hang with a fighter of Goulamirian’s quality. Arsen picks up win number 27.
Boxing Betting Pick: Arsen Goulamirian -357
CES Boxing: Clary vs. Oquendo – Twin River Event Center, Lincoln, Rhode Island
- When: Saturday, Nov. 19th, 2022. 7:00pm ET.
Toka Kahn Clary vs. Jonathan Oquendo
Clary versus Oquendo should be a super-entertaining bout. Oquendo has a 31-7 record with 19 knockout wins. The underdog in this heads to Twin Rivers Event Center in Lincoln, Nebraska after a disqualification loss to Jamel Herring in his last.
Toka Kahn Clary sports a 28-3 record. Clary lost his last via unanimous decision to none other than Shakur Stevenson. The fight against Shakur happened in 2020. Oquendo’s last fight also happened in 2020. Neither of these two has a recency edge. So backing the boxer with the better price is the way to go.
Boxing Betting Pick: Jonathan Oquendo +275
