Check out boxing odds, analysis, and free picks for five of this Saturday’s top boxing matches.

Top Boxing Betting Picks of the Week (October 27th, 2022)

Diaz vs. Zepeda – Pechanga Arena, San Diego, CA

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 29th, 2022. 8pm ET.

Joseph Diaz vs. William Zepeda

Diaz versus Zepeda should be an excellent fight. Joseph lost his last bout, but it was against Devin Haney. The good news regarding the loss to Haney is that Diaz lasted the full 12 rounds.

Zepeda is undefeated. The favorite has a 26-0 record. If William can get you out of the ring, he’ll do it. Zepeda has won 23 bouts via knockout or stoppage.

This is a big fight for both men. No doubt, Joseph Diaz is the best boxer William Zepeda has ever faced. Diaz should have learned a lot in the loss to Haney, but it won’t be enough. Zepeda’s power will be the difference.

Boxing Betting Pick: William Zepeda -175

Lomachenko vs. Ortiz – Hulu Theater at MSG, New York, NY

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 29th, 2022. 9pm ET.

Robeisy Ramirez vs. Jose Matias Romero

Argentinian Jose Matias Romero has an excellent 26-2 record with 9 knockout wins. After a couple of losses in 2021, to Isaac Cruz and Michel Rivera, Romero has bounced back in 2022, knocking out both his opponents.

But Ramirez is a massive step-up. So it’s difficult to make a case for Romero to get the win. Can Jose last beyond the 8.5 rounds total? 10-1 Robeisy Ramirez has just 6 KO wins.

Ramirez, though, beat Eric Donovan via third round TKO in February, and he beat Abraham Nova via fifth round knockout in June. Ramirez ends this before the eighth.

Boxing Betting Pick: Jose Matias Romero Under 8.5 -120

Jamaine Ortiz vs. Vasiliy Lomachenko

Vasiliy Lomachenko returns to the ring against overmatched Jamaine Ortiz. Loma would like nothing more than to fight Teofimo Lopez. But since upsetting Vasiliy, Lopez has ducked his more high-profile rival, which is why Loma ends up in a fight against Jamaine Ortiz.

Ortiz is a good boxer, but there are serious flaws in his game. Those flaws, like keeping his head on a perfect line for Loma to throw at, will lead to an easy Lomachenko victory.

The question is whether Ortiz can push this to the scorecards. The answer to the question is no. Loma will take advantage of every Jamaine miscue. Vasiliy wins this before the tenth.

Boxing Betting Pick: Vasiliy Lomachenko Under 10.5 -11

Paul vs. Silva – Desert Diamond Arena, Glendale, AZ

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 29th, 2022. 9pm ET.

LeVeon Bell vs. Uriah Hall

Bell beat fellow former NFL running back Adrian Peterson in an exhibition fight in September. Since then, Bell has trained for this fight against former MMA champion Uriah Hall. On film, Bell has some boxing skills. He’s also got this idea that he knows what he’s doing because he so easily dispatched of Adrian.

Fighting a former running back is different from taking on a former MMA champ. Bell has this tendency to keep his left low. So much so that Hall, who is used to knocking dudes out with his fists, should land an overhand right that connects to Bell’s chin. This fight shouldn’t go the distance unless Hall doesn’t have it.

Boxing Betting Pick: Uriah Hall -500

Anderson Silva vs. Jake Paul

Loma versus Jamaine could end up a snorer, which is why the most high-profile boxing match on Saturday night pits Jake “The Problem Child” Paul against Anderson “Spider” Silva.

We must give Jake credit. The YouTube star works as hard as any professional boxer in training. Paul knocked out a terrific former UFC titlist in Tyron Woodley in his last.

After a few viewings of the bout, it’s apparent Jake got in a sweet right at the same time Tyron dropped his left. If Woodley had kept his left up, the punch may have gotten through, but there’s no way it knocks Tyron out cold.

By comparison, Silva used excellent footwork to outbox Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., a professional boxer. Silva’s fantastic footwork in the ring makes sense. Anderson studied capoeira, a Brazilian dance that involves intense martial arts moves, and crazy balance.

Unless Paul’s tendency to cross his feet has improved, Anderson Silva wins via decision.

Boxing Betting Pick: Anderson Silva +145
