Celtics vs. Bucks 2023 NBA Odds and Preview – March 30th

By Jeff Stinger

A pair of heavy hitters meet at Fiserv Forum on Thursday night. The two top teams in the Eastern Conference duke it out for one last time in the 2022-23 NBA regular season. The Bucks drew first blood in their December meeting, but the Celtics fired back in February. This game is to break the regular-season series tie and an opportunity for both sides to size each other up before the playoffs begin.

The Celtics just snapped a three-game winning streak in the hands of the Wizards. Meanwhile, the 2021 champs still look solid with five wins in six games and have a shot at stretching their winning streak to three games.

,p>Nitrobetting shares the latest news, NBA odds, and special features throughout the 2022-23 NBA season. Let’s get a closer look at the upcoming Celtics vs. Bucks face-off in this preview.

Why Bet on the Boston Celtics?

Three key players lie in wait for game time. Payton Pritchard, Grant Williams, and Robert Williams III are on the injury list and await the game-time decisions. Meanwhile, Gallinari remains out until at least April 15.

The rest of the Celts’ lineup looks good. If Robert Williams III takes another day off due to injury, Al Horford fills in the position. Leading scorer Jayson Tatum is locked and loaded with team-best averages of 30.09 points and 8.87 rebounds per game, while second-best scorer Jaylen Brown puts up 26.83 points and 6.89 per game in 64 appearances.

Boston’s overall stats feature a third-best record of 118.0 points per game on 47.5% shooting. They hold three top-seven shooting averages, including 56.6% from the two-point range, 37.6% from deep, and 81.5% from the line. Defensively, the Celtics limit opponents to 112.0 points per game on a fifth-best 46.5% shooting. This two-way team does great defending past the arc with a 34.9% opponent three-point percentage and collects 52.2 total rebounds per game.

Why Bet on the Milwaukee Bucks?

This is a battle between two-way teams, and there’s no question that the Bucks do everything well on the offensive and defensive sides. Although Khris Middleton could sit this one out due to a knee injury, there’s plenty of depth in this roster.

Giannis Antetokounmpo tops the player stats in scoring and rebounds, averaging 31.12 points and 11.76 boards per game. Next to him is Jrue Holiday who puts up 18.85 points and leads the team in assists with 7.34 per game. The pair helps Milwaukee achieve the eighth-best points per game average of 116.8 on 47.1% shooting. They average 55.7% from short and mid-range while making 36.5% of three-pointers.

Defense is where a lot of the Bucks’ work shows. Head coach Mike Budenholzer and his team limit competitors to 112.4 points per game on an incredible 45.1% opponent shooting. They have an incredible two-point defense that holds teams to 51.0% from the perimeter and in the paint while keeping deep shots to 34.8%. More than that, the Bucks lead the league in rebounding with 57.1 total boards per game.

Celtics vs. Bucks Expert Betting Prediction

Home advantage and a better overall record put the Bucks ahead of the Celtics on paper. They enter the contest as favorites and the more consistent side of the two. However, the Bucks just played back-to-back games, and that gives the Celtics a slight edge as underdogs. Covering the spread could be relatively easier for the No. 2 seed with the team winning their last five games by double-digits while shooting over 50% from the field. Ultimately, this could be anyone’s game in the fourth quarter.
