Why Bet on the Boston Celtics?

Boston kicked off Game 1, taking the lead and dominating the court throughout the first half. But the offense let go of the gas pedal in the second half, allowing the Nets to beat them by 11 points at the end of the game. This is the area where the Celtics could fall again, if they don’t get things together. Plus, adding more pressure to the Nets defense can boost those chances of an explosive offense.

The Celtics need their top players to do a bit more. Such is the case for Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum, who carries most of the weight in the front. They need to move down the court much more and battle for those points in the paint. They need to avoid isolations sets, as this has affected them on the long run. If they change their strategy a bit, they could go back home with a win.

Why Bet on the Brooklyn Nets?

The big three of Brooklyn didn’t have the best start in this series, as Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden were able to get 82 points, though their shooting percentage was of 44.8%. They did 11 of 32 shots during the first half. But thankfully, their defense was good to hold them together and allowed them to take back the game.

Brooklyn averaged 10.9 in isolation possessions during the regular season, and was able to obtain 40 isolation possessions in Game 1. They also passed the ball 240 times, making it their third lowest mark this season. As for three pointers, for Durant, Irving and Harden, they only did five of 24 shots, which is 20.8%, while the rest of the team did 23.5%. They can take down the Celtics with ease, if they get it together.

Celtics vs. Nets Betting Trends

  • The Celtics are 5-10 ATS in their last 15 games.
  • The Celtics are 2-6 SU in their last 8 games.
  • The totals have gone UNDER in 5 of Boston’s last 5 games.
  • The Nets are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games.
  • The Nets are 6-0 SU in their last 6 games.
  • The totals have gone UNDER in 7 of Brooklyn’s last 10 games.

Celtics vs. Nets Expert Betting Prediction

Both teams have great offenses coming into Game 2. But the Nets will have the upper hand, if they are able to stop the Celtics from the beginning. Boston lacks the scoring depth needed, but still can get the job done, if they don’t waste their power from start. I think Brooklyn will be most likely to take the victory, especially since they are at home and it will apply the needed pressure when they head to Boston.
