Why Bet on the Dallas Cowboys?

Since the start of the season, the Cowboys secured three games with no less than 36 points in each one. What impresses us is the fact that they accomplished all three wins on the road. In Week 5 of the season, head coach Mike McCarthy and his squad scored 44 points–their best-ever in the season. In their winning efforts, they outpaced their opponents in total yards, 515 to 367. More than that, they dominated the rushing play with 201 total yards versus the Giants’ 73 yards.

In their most recent outing, Dak Prescott recorded 302 yards on 22 of 32 passing on top of 3 touchdowns and an interception. The quarterback is a pivotal component of the Cowboys’ squad and is responsible for bringing his team some of the best league statistics this season. That said, it’s safe to say that the Cowboys have one of the most potent offensive sides in the league.

As of this writing, they rank second in points per game and yards per game with an average of 34.0 points and 439.6 yards, respectively. Furthermore, they top the league in points per play at 0.502 alongside a league-high 4.2 touchdowns per game.

Going over the defense, the Cowboys held their opponents to 20 points in Week 5, while limiting their opponents to 21 points or less in three of their last five games. Overall, the team allowed an average of 23.4 points per game and did well in containing their opponents’ rushing attack.

Ultimately, the team should do well against the Patriots, who don’t have a stable ground game.

The Cowboys are dealing with multiple injuries on offense and defense. Four defensive starters made their way to the questionable list, Damontae Kazee(hip) and Trevon Diggs (ankle), while Randy Gregory and Donovan Wilson had limited participation in their latest practice session. Meanwhile, Tony Pollard might cover for the running back duties left by Ezekiel Elliott due to injury. But with a pool of talented and consistent players, the team steps into the field with the upper hand.

Why Bet on the New England Patriots?

The Patriots did well to recover from losses in Weeks 3 and Week 4 with a 25-22 victory against the Texans. It’s a shaky season for New England, but we reckon they have enough in their tank to bring the Cowboys problems this weekend. Having home-field advantage is a huge plus knowing that the Pats secured their two victories at home.

Since Brady’s departure, New England lost its footing and had to work its way from the ground up to regain traction. At the moment, the team ranks 26th in the league in points per game at 19.2 and 26th in yards per game. It’s not the best record in the league, but there are moments where the team does enough. The only time the team scored 20 points or more was in their two wins against the Jets and the Texans.

At the helm of the team is Mac Jones. The quarterback has big shoes to fill, but we see him improve slowly but surely. In the Pats’ last game, he recorded 231 passing yards on 23 of 30 throws and added a touchdown and an interception.

Defensively, it’s worth noting that the Patriots do well against rushing plays. In their most recent contest, the side limited the Texans to 67 rushing yards in the game. They rank fifth in the league in rushing touchdowns allowed per game at 0.6 and should play a crucial role in preventing the Cowboys exploit that side of the game.

Injuries hit the Patriots early into the season. The offensive line takes a tumble as Damien Harris (ribs), Shaq Mason (abdomen), and Justin Herron (abdomen) are marked questionable for Sunday’s game. On the other hand, another three defensive players are added to the list as Kyle Van Noy (abdomen), Kyle Dugger (hamstring), and Jalen Mills (hamstring) nurse injuries. The absence of crucial players presents a tougher road ahead of the Patriots. In return, this will test Bill Belichick’s ability to cope with sticky situations.

Cowboys vs. Patriots Expert Betting Predictions

Just five games into the season and the Patriots are already in for a wild ride. I’m sure a lot of us want to see the Patriots get a win in front of their home crowd, but the Cowboys are looking better than ever. With four wins under their belt, including an away win against the Chargers, the Cowboys enter the game as favorites. However, the Patriots can threaten to cover the spread and even take the win in this one with home-field advantage on their side. As long as they keep the Cowboys’ offense at bay, it should be doable for the team. At the end of the day, everyone is excited about how both teams fare against each other.
