Top 2023 NBA Championship Pick

If Khris Middleton hadn’t gotten hurt during the Eastern Conference Playoffs, there is a good chance the Milwaukee Bucks would have beaten the Boston Celtics marched to their second straight NBA Finals.

Middleton should return to Milwaukee’s lineup one-hundred percent healthy. Giannis Antetokounmpo, no matter what MVP voters believe, is the best player in the league. Antetokounmpo and Middleton ensure the Bucks make the playoffs. The supporting cast remains as solid as it gets. At the odds, Milwaukee to win the title is the early top play.

Top Second 2023 NBA Championship Pick

The Golden State Warriors are in danger of losing three important players to their 2022 championship run. Kevin Looney, Otto Porter Jr., and Gary Payton II are free agents. Because Golden State is paying Andrew Wiggins so much, many question whether GS can resign any of the three.

But Looney, Porter Jr., and Payton II have stated they want to remain in San Francisco. So if the Warriors can figure out how to keep all three, or even if they keep just two, Golden State will again be the best team in the Western Conference. The odds are light, which is why Golden State is the second pick. But if you believe, then go for it.

Top Third 2023 NBA Championship Pick

If any player can come back from a tough injury and play at their highest level, it’s Kawhi Leonard. After taking two seasons off, Kawhi should be back to his normal self. There’s a couple of ways to look at it. First, Kawhi isn’t close to being the same player that helped the Toronto Raptors win the 2019 NBA Finals.

Second, Kawhi comes back stronger because he took a couple seasons off. If you believe Kawhi comes back stronger, then the Los Angeles Clippers are a serious NBA Championship contender. Paul George is committed, the bench is very good, and who doesn’t want to play for Steve Ballmer? So the Clippers should attract another top player this offseason. LAC is worth a look for sure.

Top Underdog 2023 NBA Championship Pick

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is kicking himself. Cuban watched his team play close to perfect basketball in a stunning 30 point win over the Phoenix Suns in a Game 7 to make the Western Conference Finals.

Then Cuban watched as the Golden State Warriors used a superior front court to dust the Mavericks. Cuban knows he’s close to winning another title. Expect Mark to pull out all the stops to attract a top big man to Dallas. If the Mavericks can improve their front court, they’ll be the contender to back to end Golden State’s reign.
