Why Bet on the Atlanta Hawks?
Although the scores in their losses to the Heat suggests the Hawks aren’t on Miami’s level, the truth is that in almost every game Atlanta has shot themselves in the foot.
In the first game, the Hawks cut the lead to 3 points. We should throw out the first game because Atlanta was playing against Miami a day after their final play-in tournament contest. The Hawks were too tired to hang with the Heat.
But in Game 2, Atlanta cut Miami’s lead to three points but couldn’t sustain the comeback. Then in Game 3, Jimmy Butler went off for 45. If Atlanta plays better defense on Jimmy, they can win this.
Why Bet on the Miami Heat?
The Miami Heat lost Game 3, but in retrospect, Jimmy Butler and his mates should have won the third contest. At one point, the Heat had outscored the Hawks 21-0.
Miami should have no trouble closing the door in Game 5. Butler scored 45 in Game 2 and 36 in Game 4. The ATL can’t stop Jimmy B.
If the Hawks manage to contain Butler, they must deal with Miami’s other players. Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, and the rest will pick up the slack. On Tuesday night, expect Miami to win and cover.
Hawks vs. Heat Betting Trends
- Hawks are 10-5 ATS in the last 15 games.
- Atlanta is 10-5 SU in the last 15 games.
- The total went under in 6 of Atlanta’s last 6 games.
- Heat are 9-2 ATS in the last 11 games.
- Miami is 9-2 SU in the last 11 games.
- The total went under in 5 of Miami’s last 6 games.
Hawks vs. Heat Expert Betting Prediction
Atlanta could have challenged Miami if they were one-hundred percent. Clint Capela hasn’t played much because of an injury he suffered in the victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Also, Bogdan Bogdanovic is listed as questionable for Game 5. Lou Williams, Mr. Instant Offense, is out for sure.
The problem Atlanta has is on the defensive end. When an injured player tries to go for it, they can do well on the offensive end, but injured players are often liabilities on the defensive end. Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler, and the rest of the Heat force you to work harder on defense than you do on offense. The pressure that Miami is able to exert onto Atlanta is immense.
In two games this series, the Hawks have folded in the face of Butler’s brilliance. Back at home and in a Game 5 that can win Miami the series, we should expect Butler to score at least 30. He could end up with 40. Once Atlanta gets down, the Hawks will find it difficult to play their way back into this game. Don’t be surprised if Miami wins via a blowout.
