Why Bet on the Miami Heat?

The Heat lost Game 1, 109-107, but if it was any consolation, at least they managed to cover the spread. Miami had so much success with the three-ball in the series opener, as the Heat drained a total of 20 triples on 50 attempts. Goran Dragic led all Heat scorers with 25 points off the bench, while Duncan Robinson contributed 24 more.

Despite those productions, the Heat are going to need the others to shoot more efficiently, as Kendrick Nunn, Bam Adebayo, and Jimmy Butler all hoisted bricks nonstop in Game 1. The Heat shot 36.4 FG%, and they managed to make the score respectable because of their defense. Milwaukee went 5 of 31 on their 3-pointers and shot 43.8% from the field. As long as the Heat plays that kind of defense, they will always have a shot at pulling off an upset in this series.

Why Bet on the Milwaukee Bucks?

It must be good for the Bucks to have three stars taking turns on offense. That was simply the case in Game 1, with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday combining for 73 points. While Milwaukee did not shoot well, the Bucks won the rebounding battle, 64-51, and in turn, got more shots than Miami. Antetokounmpo pulled down 18 rebounds, while Holiday hauled in 11 boards.

The Bucks can be hard to stop on offense because of how quickly they generate points, and the last thing opponents would want to see is Milwaukee getting extra possessions. Also, the Bucks’ outside shooting can show its usual terrific form as soon as Game 2, so that’s something for the Heat to feel concerned about. In the regular season, the Bucks were fifth with 14.4 3-pointers per game.

Heat vs. Bucks Betting Trends

  • The Heat are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games after giving up at least 100 points in the game before.
  • The Heat are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games after a loss.
  • The Over is 4-0 in the Heat’s last 4 games after a loss.
  • The Bucks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games at home vs. teams with a road record better than .500.
  • The Bucks are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record.
  • The Under is 6-2 in the Bucks’ last 8 games as home favorites.

Heat vs. Bucks Expert Betting Prediction

Heat spread bettors cashed in Game 1. Can they trust Miami to cover again? That depends on how well their defense can hold down Milwaukee, as the Heat don’t seem to have enough to keep in step with the Bucks’ offense. So far, it looks as though both teams are due to have a better offensive game in Game 2, which seems to favor Bucks ATS bettors.
