Jacksonville owner Shad Khan let it be known that this is a make-or-break season for the Jaguars, meaning if Doug Pederson and his staff doesn’t lead Jacksonville to the playoffs, Khan is going to make a change. Pederson is a Super Bowl winning head coach. Will Doug and the Jags step it up in 2024? Or will Khan start creating his HC list early? Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence Chances to Win the 2024 NFL MVP

Lawrence had a so-so 2023 season. A lot of that had to do with a beat up offensive line and a less than stellar wide receiver room. Both issues were addressed this offseason.

Cam Robinson is back and one hundred percent healthy. Robinson at left tackle allows Ezra Cleveland to move back to his natural left guard position. Brandon Scherff remains one of the top right guards in the league.

The new wide receiver of Christian Kirk, Gabe Davis, and Brian Thomas Jr. should excel because Trevor Etienne Jr. is an excellent running back. Davis is a WR1 in WR2 clothes. Gabe projects to have a breakout season.

All in all, the odds make Lawrence playable. If you believe the Texans flub, then the Jags will win the AFC South. Backing Trevor at 30-to-1 odds makes sense if you’re a Jaguars fan.

Jaguars HC Doug Pederson Chances to win the 2024 NFL Coach of the Year

These are the type of odds, and Jacksonville is the type of situation, we want in an overlay NFL Coach of the Year play. Most expect the Texans to win the AFC South.

Many are on the fence about the Jaguars’ playoff chances. So if Pederson does lead Jacksonville to the playoffs and deep into the NFL postseason, he is likely to secure votes for NFL Coach of the Year. At +4000 odds, Pederson is a great flyer to win the NFL COTY.

Jacksonville Jaguars to Chances to Win the 2024 AFC South Division

Tennessee doesn’t appear capable of winning the AFC South. Neither do the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts have talent, but this is, for all intents and purposes, Anthony Richardson’s first season since the former Florida quarterback suffered an injury in 2023.

Jacksonville has talent on both sides of the ball. So if Houston doesn’t perform too expectations, Jacksonville should win the division.

It doesn’t feel like Jacksonville is good enough in a conference that includes Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, and Joe Burrows and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Still, the Jags’ defense should be one of the better units in the league. So if the offense steps it up, the Jaguars could pull off an AFC winning shocker.

The schedule is by no means easy. But the Jaguars will benefit from playing Tennessee and Indianapolis twice. Also, the Jags should beat Houston at home. Games against the Bears, Patriots, Raiders, and Vikings should be victories. Contests versus Green Bay, Miami, and Cleveland can go either way. Right now, we’re leaning towards Yes.

The bet is over 8.5. Jacksonville should sweep Tennessee, beat the Bears, Patriots, Packers, and Vikings at home. A win over Vegas on the road is doable. So is a win over the Texans and Browns at home.

Jacksonville Jaguars Super Bowl 49 Prediction

Although Jacksonville shouldn’t win the Super Bowl, Doug Pederson won the Lombardi with a similar team while the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Almost as important? There are few teams offering +4000 or higher odds to win the Super Bowl that have as much talent as the Jacksonville Jaguars. So considering the odds, the schedule, and the possibility of a Trevor Lawrence and Gabe Davis connection, backing the Jags makes some sense.
