Do the Rams offer fair, underlay, or overlay against the spread odds?

Los Angeles stepped it up in the playoffs, dominating the Arizona Cardinals 34-11 as -3 favorites and then upsetting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-27 in Tampa as a +2.5 dog. But in the NFC Championship, it was touch and go for most of the game. The Rams looked to be in a bad position in the fourth-quarter. If San Francisco safety Jaquiski Tartt had intercepted a Matthew Stafford pass, the Rams may have lost the NFC Championship.

The Rams also almost blew the divisional round victory over the Bucs. Because Los Angeles seems to have lucked their way into the Super Bowl, the 4 points should mean a lot. LAR should be -2.5 to -3 favorites but that’s it.

Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl 56 ATS Odds: Underlay

Do the Rams offer fair, underlay or overlay moneyline odds?

Laying -204 to make $100 on the Rams to beat the Cincinnati Bengals and win the Super Bowl is a bad play. It’s not because the Rams can’t beat the Bengals. But it’s because these two teams are on the same level, which means the Rams shouldn’t be more than a -125 to -145 favorite at best. The Bengals upset the Titans and Chiefs on the moneyline and they didn’t play either in their building.

More importantly, Joe Burrow has as many top receiving targets as Matthew Stafford. Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd is as good of a receiver group as Cooper Kupp, Odell Beckham Jr., and Van Jefferson.

Cincinnati has an edge at running back with Joe Mixon. The Rams’ defensive line is slightly better with Aaron Donald and Von Miller. But Sam Hubbard and Trey Hendrickson are very good.

A case can be made that Cincy has a better secondary than the Rams even though Jalen Ramsey plays for LAR. Eli Apple, Vonn Bell, Jessie Bates III, and Chidobie Awuzie as a group are terrific.

So although the Rams should be favored on the moneyline because the game happens at SoFi, they shouldn’t be a -204 chalk. The Rams offer underlay moneyline odds to win Super Bowl 56.
