When betting odds land in Toronto versus Baltimore, no doubt, the Orioles are going to be big time favorites. Baltimore sends Corbin Burnes to the mound to take on the Blue Jays. Burnes’ ERA is a terrific 2.83. His WHIP is a marvelous .97.
Burnes has struck out 47 batters in 47.2 innings, which means he’s sending a batter an inning to the dugout. But as well as Burnes has thrown, he didn’t have a great outing in his last, giving up 3 earned runs off 5 hits in 6.1 innings. Corbin also walked 3 while striking out 6 in a loss to the Washington Nationals.
Toronto listed pitcher Jose Berrios also heads to the mound off a less than stellar performance. Berrios lasted just 3.2 innings in a 10-1 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. The Toronto pitcher gave up 8 earned runs off 7 hits.
What’s interesting about Berrios’ stat line versus Philly is that he also struck out 7. It appears Berrios had been overly aggressive in the game and that cost him.
Berrios allows the Orioles to bat .291 against him. Burnes gives up a .190 batting average to Toronto but the sample is small, 42 at-bats. Because of the projected odds, and the fact Berrios was decent until the Phillies took advantage against some bad pitches, the Blue Jays get the nod.
MLB Betting Pick: Blue Jays
Chicago Cubs vs. Atlanta Braves

Two of the hottest pitchers in the National League flex their arms on Monday when the Cubs start Shota Imanaga and the Braves hand the ball to Reynaldo Lopez in Chicago versus Atlanta.
Heading into the match, Imanaga has been close to unhittable, boasting a 5-0 record with a 1.08 ERA and a .82 WHIP.
Lopez is 2-1 with a 1.53 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. But although Lopez started out hot and has overall great stats, his last two outings have shown backward steps. Seattle blasted Lopez for 3 earned runs off 6 hits in the Mariners 3-2 victory.
Although the Braves won Lopez’s next start versus Boston, Reynaldo allowed an earned run and walked 4. Allowing a run and walking 4 while giving up 6 hits isn’t bad. In fact, it’s good, but the performance wasn’t as solid as what we saw from Lopez in his earlier starts.
Imanaga’s control is amazing. He gave up a home run and 2 runs to San Diego in his last, but he threw 7 innings, which allowed the Cubs to employ their relievers in a typical fashion leading to a 3-2 victory. This is the first time the Braves will see Imanaga, which will give Shota a massive advantage. Back the Cubs to cash.
MLB Betting Pick: Cubs
