Why is Netherlands a safe bet to win?
The Netherlands had an edge over Turkey heading into the match. However, up until the 70th minute, Turkey had taken it to the Dutch via 1-0 goal. In fact, the Turks looked like they were on their way to a victory.
But in the 70th minute, Stefan de Vrij got the equalizer. Then in minute 76, Mult Mulder knocked in an own goal that ended Turkey’s Euro Cup.
Heading into their match versus England, the young Dutch know they must step it up. England is a much better team than Turkey. So we should expect Cody Gakpo, Xavi Simons, and the rest to put their best foot forward in what will be a fast-paced match.
Possible Line-Up
- Verbruggen
- van Djik
- de Vrij
- Ake
- Dumfries
- Simons
- Reijnders
- Schouten

Why is England a safe bet to win?
Ever since Jude Bellingham’s bicycle kick to tie it up versus Slovakia in England’s 2-1 knockout stage victory, the English have begun to play fantastic soccer. England had to beat Switzerland via penalty kicks, yes, but the Swiss were one of the Euro Cup’s top teams heading into that quarterfinals match.
Switzerland had drawn against Germany and knocked out Italy 2-0. The Swiss were playing at a high level. The fact England’s defense held Switzerland to 0 goals is a testament to how England has improved during the tournament.
Possible Line-Up
- Pickford
- Stones
- Konsa
- Walker
- Rice
- Mainoo
- Trippier
- Saka
- Kane
- Bellingham
- Foden
England’s Last 5
- Win: 1-1 vs. Switzerland
- Win: 2-1 vs. Slovakia
- Draw: 0-0 vs. Slovenia
- Draw: 1-1 vs. Denmark
- Win: 1-0 vs. Serbia
Netherlands vs. England Betting Prediction
If England pushes the ball forward, they will score goals against the Netherlands. The Orange defense yielded 3 goals to Austria, a goal to Turkey, and a goal to Poland.
The Netherlands likes to push the attack, which is why they are vulnerable to the counter-attack. But Gareth Southgate, so far at least, hasn’t unleashed Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden, and Harry Kane. What it means is that England will play a conservative match.
Once again, soccer fans should ready themselves for a tactical but somewhat boring match. England and the Netherlands play to a regulation draw.
