G/F Bennedict Mathurin – Arizona

Assuming that Zion Williamson will be the team’s starting power forward next season, New Orleans’ weak spot on the starting five is as small forward. That being said, Arizona’s Bennedict Mathurin is one fine option towards the back-half of the top 10. The Pac-12 Player of the Year is a fantastic scoring threat, as Mathurin averaged 17.7 points per game on 45 percent field-goal shooting in his final season with the Wildcats.

F AJ Griffin – Duke

Another flex forward that the Pelicans will take a hard look at is AJ Griffin out of Duke. The former McDonald’s All-American broke out late in his one season under Coach K and has terrific measurables for his position at 6-foot-6 with a seven-inch wingspan. Griffin’s 45-percent efficiency from beyond the arc is a must-have for the Pels, who ranked in the bottom third of the NBA in three-pointers made and in accuracy last season.

G/F Johnny Davis – Wisconsin

The backcourt of C.J. McCollum and Brandon Ingram is a terrific tandem that New Orleans can be thankful for. Jose Alvarado also emerged as a superb defensive backup, and the team could use someone to pair up with Alvarado in the second unit. Wisconsin’s Johnny Davis appears to be a solid fit at that, as the consensus first-team All-American averaged 19.7 points and 8.2 rebounds in his sophomore campaign with the Badgers as a superb scoring threat who also has a keen awareness on the defensive glass.
