Why Bet on the Denver Nuggets?

The Nuggets are yet to slip up in this series. After a hard-fought Game 2, they made sure that this road game had a statement. True enough, Denver closed the night on 50.0% from the field and 41.5% from deep, outplaying their opponents on almost all angles. Both sides worked similar numbers from the line with the visitors making 73.7% of their free throws.

Jamal Murray’s exemplary display of talent led the game with 37 points on 15 of 29 shooting and a perfect two of two from the line. Michael Porter Jr. also took some of the rebounding load off the Joker’s shoulders and collected a team-high ten rebounds, while Jokic opened opportunities for his teammates and found eight assists in 38 minutes to go with his 24 points and six rebounds. Furthermore, the Western Conference leaders have the depth that provides scoring off the bench. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 17 points and Bruce Brown Jr. had 13.

The Nuggets’ stats are undeniably dominant in 14 playoff games. Denver posts 116.6 points per game on 49.1% from the field, backed by a 38.8% three-point shooting percentage. As for their rebounding, they trail the Lakers by a small margin but collected 44.5 boards per game.

Why Bet on the Los Angeles Lakers?

This is the first time in the 2023 NBA playoffs that the Lakers are on the verge of elimination. Their Game 3 performance was not as impressive as their previous meeting versus the Nuggets. The hosts shot 45.2% from the field and 31.3% from deep while averaging slightly better free-throw shooting at 75.9%. Rebounding wasn’t a problem for the Lakers last weekend. They out-rebounded the Nuggets, 45 to 39. The Lakers collected more offensive rebounds and even converted 13 points off their opponent’s six turnovers.

Anthony Davis activated playoff mode and recorded 28 points and 18 rebounds. Although it wasn’t enough to keep his teammates out of trouble, it’s good to see the big man firing on all cylinders. Veteran forward and one-half of the AD-LeBron duo, James, led the game in assists with 12 dimes in 43 minutes. James and Reaves scored 23 points each, while Rui Hachimura worked 13 points off the bench. The rest of the starters, as D’Angelo Russell and Jarred Vanderbilt, need to come alive if they want to avoid the sweep in Game 4.

The Lakers have solid playoff stats. They averaged 112.4 points and 47.2% from the field in 15 games. Moreover, the 2020 NBA Champions have dominant rebounding numbers at 45.1 boards to go with 6.5 blocks per game.

  • The Lakers won four of the last five postseason games at Crypto.com Arena (4-1 ATS).

Nuggets vs. Lakers Game 4 Expert Betting Prediction

The Lakers remain the favorites here. But, it’s difficult not to question the numbers following a great Game 3 by the Nuggets. It would be awful to see the Lakers go down like this. No matter how you look at it, Denver led by head coach Michael Malone is the better team. The Western Conference top seed comfortably proved their strength through the first round, second round, and the Conference Finals.

There’s still a good chance that the Lakers escape a Game 4 elimination, but if they do win this one, expect a tight scoreline from start to finish. Covering the spread should be doable for the Nuggets in the case of a loss, but Los Angeles has to outperform themselves in the past three games to regain plenty of lost momentum.
