Why Bet on the Florida Panthers?

Although the Florida Panthers are coming off a rather embarrassing 8-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning over the weekend, they still had an insane 13-game win streak that preceded that defeat. Nonetheless, Florida still has a comfortable nine-point cushion for the best record in the Eastern Conference to soften that blow from the defending Stanley Cup champs.

Sam Reinhart scored two of the four goals for the Panthers, who remain the highest-scoring team in the league by a wide margin, averaging 4.16 goals per game. Star center Jonathan Huberdeau also tallied an assist in the loss to the Lightning to give him 115 points for the season (second in the NHL).

Here’s hoping that Florida’s goalies bounce back against Boston. Neither Sergei Bobrovsky (three goals allowed vs. Tampa Bay) and Spencer Knight (five goals) had the answer for the Bolts despite either of them not allowing no more than two goals in each the Panthers’ past seven games.

Why Bet on the Boston Bruins?

There’s still time left for the Boston Bruins to make huge noise approaching the playoffs. Their 5-3 victory over the Montreal Canadiens gives them the season sweep of the Habs and their fourth win in five games. Boston has a three-point lead over the Washington Capitals for the first wild card seed in the East and is also just three points behind the aforementioned Lightning for the third-best record in the Atlantic.

Before Boston gets ahead of itself by sending Tampa Bay to a wild card spot with a little luck, the team has just got to be thankful for its spectacular play of late. Sensational veteran Patrice Bergeron found the back of the net twice and dished out a helper against the Habs, who celebrated the life and career of recently-passed hockey legend, Guy Lafleur on Sunday.

The Bruins will counter Florida’s potent offense with the fourth-best defense in the league; one that’s allowing just 2.67 goals per contest to their opponents. Jeremy Swayman (2.37 GAA – fourth in the NHL) has yet to face the Panthers this season and will be counted upon to give the division leaders another crucial defeat before the two possibly square off down the line in the postseason.

Panthers vs. Bruins Betting Trends

  • The Panthers have won five straight road games and eight of the last nine away from home.
  • The Panthers are 8-0 over the last nine outings as road favorites.
  • The totals went evenly split at two decisions apiece between the over/under/push over Florida’s last six road games.
  • The Bruins are 5-3 against Florida since the 2019 season.
  • The Bruins are 8-3 in the last 11 home games.
  • The totals went under in each of Boston’s last three homestands.

Panthers vs. Bruins Expert Betting Predictions

The Panthers may have seen their lengthy winning streak come to an end, but the fact remains that they’re one of the most complete teams in the league right now. However, the Bruins are cruising as we speak and have gotten the better of the Panthers lately. As such, Tuesday’s clash is one of the better matchups on the slate that could go either way.
